To be honest I need help. It seems to be that in about August I start getting excited about Halloween and start doing my halloween video watching and get into the mood. But after I seem to draw back a bitMe and the wife are finally going to build a house in the spring which is exciting me because I finally get to get back into serious prop making and have been inspired by many people here. I been living in apartments for 10 years and before I was home with the folks decorating their house. So I'm thinking about making prop projects starting now and it will keep me in the "mood" during the other months.

Many of us here work on props all year long. This keeps me inspired, or is it the inspiration that keeps me working on Halloween all year long? Another thing that helps (for me anyway) is playing the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack CD during the commute to work, every day, all year long, coming and going. That sounded a little obssesive even to me. Anyway, if you have a true passion for halloween, inspiration will find you.
Congrats on your new house!I don't want to just scare them... I want to mess them up for life!

I keep my desktop wallpaper halloween themed all year round. I rotate between pics of the previous year's festitivities. That way, every day when I set down I'm reminded of the best holiday!

this forum helps. but it seems i usually take a break from all things halloween from november 2nd to around late march early april. there's turkey day, wife's b-day, xmas, new years, then both my parents' b-days, brother and sister's b-days are both in march. so after the BIG night i have about a 5 month break. then it's total prop building time and back to the forums =D
also, i play the complete soundtrack to disneys haunted mansion to get me in the mood."Trick or treat" is not a greeting, it's an ultimatum ~ Spats
