What sorts of things do you do in your tame/kiddie areas?
I'm looking to expand mine to fill a party canopy this year, but other than the boiling ducky vat and some unscary store sham-atronics I am at a loss for ideas. We are giving the little tots mini duckies/assorted Oriental Trading toys they scoop from the vat, lollipops and glow bracelets. I was trying to think of some clever way of passing out the bracelets or lollies as a game or something but I'm stuck.

This will be the first time that we will be making a concession to the youngerones that are too intimidated to enter the Haunt. We'll have a separate table set up and a "Witch" there will be passing out candy.
If you want something a little different, how about a "Raffle"? Let the kids draw their prizes from a box or a cauldron.Wolfman

I'm going to be turning our den into a glow room. Blacklights, huge glowing spider web, and giving out glow necklaces and bracelets (got a good deal on eBay).

A vat of hot candle wax could get expensive, do you think boiling nacho cheese would be a viable substitite?
jk
Boy am I glad my kids aren't in your class!

You could make a Scooby-Doo maze. I also recommend playing some Halloween-related kid's music, like one of those "Kids' Halloween Party Songs" CDs.

Theres a Lollipop game that they have at many school fairs.
Get one of those styrofoam pyramids, blocks, etc. paint it with what ever color you want. Take a LOT of lollipops and put a color on the bottom of each stick. Each color corresponds to a prize. You can have one or two really good prizes and some cheapo stuff from orental trading, some one and two dollar items, etc.
Each kid gets a lollipop and a prize.

Yep got the music covered.
And I love the maze idea!!!
Is your hero movable, or just at the beginning and they just trace with their fingers?
How did the kids respond, did it slow them down like you wanted? Do you have any more pictures of your children's zone?
