Well, I've always sang the praises of Fright Catalog... but my tune is changing.
I ordered the animated scarecrow from them (item #1001075) a couple of weeks ago for $112.00 pluc 28.95 shipping. The prop is actually shceduled to be delivered today.
Well, imaginge how I felt when I walked into Garden Ridge last night and saw the same exact thing for $39.99 (Their printed retail price on the box). Their Halloween stuff is going on sale, so I could probably get him for even less that that.
So, I called Fright Catalog this morning because I assumed they would price match, since the page with the scarecrow has a big logo that says "Frightcatalog.com - Best Price Guaranteed".
The sales rep at Fright catalog told me that they only price match, before you purchase an item from them and that I would have had to requst the lower price before I placed the order. (which says to me, haha we have your cash... so now you're screwed)
Having been a good fright catalog customer for the last 8 or so years, I'm a disappointed in having my situation dismissed so quickly. Needless to say, I'm refusing delivery today of the package, and am giving serious thought to weather I will purchase from them again in the future or not.
Looks like I'll be going to Garden Ridge to buy a scarecrow.

I just called a local Garden Ridge and their Halloween stuff is now 30% off, and moving quickly. So if there are any props anyone is interested in like the scarecrow, you can get some really great deals now!
I also just found out from a friend that Cost Plus- World Market has the same scarecrow for 40 bucks. Ugh!

I agree with you that it is pretty lame for them not to price match, especially since you didnt even have the item yet. It is a shame that companies continue to have a guarantee but then subject it to outrageous stipulations. What I find really horrendous is that the retail price on the box itself is $40 and Frightcatalog charges so much more.

Dalloween
I just came back from Cost Plus world market and they do have the scarecrow for $50 but they have a 50% off sale right now so it is only $25. Because of you I was able to get this prop.
Now this prop is not worth the money frightcatalog is charging but for $25 bucks you cannot go wrong.
ALso he runs on 3 AA batteries that go in his head to operate his glowing eye and the moaning sounds. Because of this I plan on get (2) 2x4's and making them into a large letter 'T' and mounting him like a real scarecrow. He is motion activated so when someone walks by,his eye will light up and he will moan. In my opinion a pretty good prop for $25.

I'm glad I caught your response beforfe heading to Garden Ridge. I just called my World Market and she checked and it's ringing up 25 bucks here as well. They are holding their last one for me. I'll go pick it up tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know about the sale!
The sad thing is, you can buy the prop on sale at World Market for less than what Fright Catalog is charging for shipping!
