My wife and I have gone every year since 1994 except in 1996 when we got married on October 19th. Whoa boy...the 10 year big one is coming up!!!
Anyways we are going to the October 21st Halloween dinner at 8pm and we are wondering if anybody from the boards is going to be going to any of these?
If any of you are going to this particular show...let us know. It would be great to meet some fellow local haunters.

Alas no. I have so little time to work on the yard haunt that this would be a luxury to attend the dinner.
So many skeletons - so little time."Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble. Double, double toil and trouble-- Something wicked this way comes "

You know, I keep hearing so much of the festival this year. I have not been since my two oldest were young, so must be about 18 years, and I have never wanted to go back. I don't even remember why I didn't enjoy it, and it was in infancy back than so I am sure it has changed. Perhaps next year I should attend and give it another chance.
Same here, too little time to get stuff done. We are lucky on the weekends if I get a meal cooked without having to go someplace! Have fun if you go, maybe get some new ideas?

The Halloween dinner has very very little to do with the Renaissance Festival except that the same company puts it on and the dinner is in Bad Manor Hall on the Renaissance grounds. You're bused into the grounds from where the "Trail of Terror" is held a little ways away from the fest grounds.

I think this Trail of Terror looks like one of the best Horror attractions around! Unfortunately, I can't do much this year cos my one year old would prob make things pretty limited. But I hope you have a great time!

I was to the Trail of Terror at Spookyworld in Shakopee about 5 years or so ago, and once prior to that when it was a hay ride held at Murphy's Landing. Both were filled with great props but short on actual scares. I have not been since it is in an old house. There were a gazillion people there years ago and we left dissapointed. Last year our local scout troop went and some of them came to our trail the next night. They said they had more fun at ours and it was close and free.

The original Spooky World at Murphy's Landing was very fun. Ha ha hah...Tiny Tim..damn that was sad to watch. Trail of Terror is equally as much of a rip off in my opinion. For the money they ask...they should be able to pay more people to scare in the maze instead of just being there to tell people to keep moving.
The best place so far I've been to is the animated houses in Wisconsin Dells. Go off season and you have the whole place to yourself.

Was just at Trail of Terror last Saturday.
It opened at 7pm, we got there by 7:50pm. The line was all the way out to the parking lot. It was very crowded, cold, & the lines were terrible! 2 hr wait for the hayride, & another 80 min. for the Haunted house.
If anyone from MN wants to attend a free haunted maze, Maze of Terror will be open October 28th. It's located just outside Mapleton, MN. Email me for details...

Oh the wait for the hay ride is the biggest joke and let down...I never wait for that ride anymore. If you do the Renaissance Halloween Dinner you get into the Trail of Terror as part of the package...otherwise I would never-ever-ever spend $15.00 per person to get into the grounds to wait in line for these events...never!!!! Like I said...for the kind of money they are raking in this should be one of the most premier haunts in the midwest. But if you tack a "haunted trail" on anything and charge money...you'll make a fortune during this time of year.
