I went outside in the wet to grab something from the outdoor project area and the damn tent blew down!! Its a big 14'x16' medieval tent, with 24 ropes holding it down! It will house the exorcism scene, we put it up saturday. GAHHHHH!!!! That tent has never fallen down...I've seen them withstand near tornadoes. But...I have 6 inches of dirt on rock, so not all the stakes were set deep enough...with the rain today...they pulled up. I just hope nothing is too damaged...its was hard to tell and no way to untangle it myself.
    Bloody weather....

Ahhhh what a bummer. I'd hate that to happen to my props and stuff. Especially if I'd spent time doing them. But BAD BAD weather like tornadoes and windstorms is pretty rare in England. But one thing which isn't rare is BAD rain. Sometimes in England it really really REALLY CHUCKS it down with rain. I hope it doesn't do this on the night of Halloween. That will tick me right off.

I know how you feel! We had that happen 2 years ago. We were able to save everything and still have the party the same evening. I hope you are as lucky!

I checked it this morning, looks like no damage, just the stakes pulled out with the wind and it just fell over..hopefully no rips. It seems stable where its at. It took 3 people to set it up, I may wait until tomorrow to fix it as its supposed to be sunny and warm, maybe the ground can dry out some. Just annoying and a time consumer when theres so much more to be done.

Wind is the bane of October. It always makes me go ballistic worrying about how my haunt will survive. This year I just have to restake some of the display. I use a lot of rebar and PVC to stake out the props. Too bad we have to go to the extremes like that to protect our haunt. But it is October.

Good luck to everyone this year.

Battling the high winds & heavy rains here in Western PA almost daily this October, too. Wake up every morning and run outside to see what needs repaired. Broken PVC zombies, blown away masks, lopsided props, waterlogged spotlight holders that shortout....Even had to fix some things in the middle of thunderstorms to keep the display operational. We have to stay strong! It's a battle!

My Spiderweb tunnel and a few other props were also victims of a strong wind. Need to buy more web.

Got off lucky, no perm. damage, got it straightened up. Need to put on the other storm rope. What I cant believe is that a cheap flimsy grim reaper from Party city stayed put on the roof...hes just held in place with a few staples from a staple gun.
