Hey all - hope your holiday preparations are going well. We were fortunate enough to get to the "Fall Colors Family Day" at Comlara Park near Hudson, IL this past weekend, and man, it was a blast!! The kids got to decorate pumpkins and cookies, and they had a free small petting zoo & horse ride on what I swear was a Clydsdale ((sp?) one huge horse (I mean HUGE!!)).

We all chowed down on $1 hot dogs and free(!) marshmallows that we roasted ourselves, then expended all that sugar playing in the bean-bag toss tourney. The best part was later at dusk, the kids got to go trick-or-treating through the campgrounds (anyone who wanted to participate posted a pumpkin picture on their campsite marker-post). Everyone was so friendly and generous, it was great! After that we got on the Haunted Hayrack...o.k., wasn't the greatest ride I've been on, but if you're into cheesy fun (and stupid teen girls squealing at every little noise), this one's for you.

Overall, a great way to spend a lovely Fall Saturday, and awesome warm-up to the big day!! I highly recommend it!
