Well, I was doing well at getting things done until last week. And I gotta say I don't know how so many of you find the time to read and post here...I've been barely glancing over it for weeks. For one thing there are too many new ideas to try, and it was depressing me on how many I won't get to this year...even 3-4 of my planned props are now off the list for this year. Just no time.
Anyway, been sick all week, so had to stop corpsing because the ammonia fumes don't mesh with sinus troubles very well. And since fiancee is getting it, probably no corpsing next week either.
And my building help is now working during my off times....I don't know how we are going to finish the building projects that are left. *sigh*
We are also still short 2 volunteers.
I'm consoling myself with that most of whats left I can do myself, except building some tunnels.
Anyone else stressing out?

Well, nothing compared to your troubles, but I am stressing right now because my son's birthday party is tomorrow and we try to have the yard haunt all set up so our out-of-town relatives can see it. I still have to dress a skeleton, finish the webbing on the spider victim, and finish 2 pneumatic props. Plus, my oldest child has a sporting event tonight...there goes the evening. We're in pretty good shape for Halloween itself, it's just this weekend that's getting to me.

Don't sweat. Once you have props, all you need to do, in future, is "spiff 'em up" a little each year.

Speaking of depression, I just found out that trick or treating in our area will in fact be on Tuesday the 31st. I'm teaching a class that week and can't take the day off.
And the "official" time is from 6:00 to 7:30.
That's not enough time I say! Hell, that barely gives me enough time to get home from work let alone get into costume.

Yes its just around the corner and I too am suffering from not getting things done. I was sick all summer from the Doctor trying to find a medicine that would work. He'd say...try this one for 3 weeks, well we went thru that the entire summer and I was sick as a dog until the end of August. I scratched projects too......made me sick cause I so wanted the cemetery this year.
But I traded off and did a lot inside the house. We still add a little outside every year but now with this new house I got hords of yard for BIG THINGS!!!! So next year will be a biggy for me. I wish I would have had kids and they would have grown up to be carpenters!!

So many plans, so little time.
I got a late start due to health problems. It didn't get taken care of until a week after I usually put my stuff out. Then I had to wait till the next weekend to start. I hope to be finished tomorrow (Sunday) but I now won't be able to have everything I'd planned.
However, the FCG is done. The crypt is half done, but usable (thanks to mucho help from the hubby), the witch stirring cauldron will be done tomorrow. The spider victim runs fine. Hopefully the last (the last I'll get to that is) Blucky will be done and all out.
Things I haven't finished: the 5 other bluckies, the dancing ghosts (I do those every other year or so as filler), the crashed witch improvements (so I didn't even put her out), the scarecrow, the floating pumpkin, and some new gravestones.
Oh well, there's always next year, right?
Now, off to have a nice hot shower and check myself for ticks. I've already pulled two off me from this weekend. Deer ticks, too.

2 weeks? That's all the time I have left? Ack!
Actually, I was right on schedule until a friend who has theater set design experience offered to set up a pirate shipwreck in my front yard. I agreed, he was going to come over and set it up on Saturday morning, said it could be done in one day. I knew better, but figured we'd also have Sunday to work on it. So he showed up at 4:45 on Sunday to drop off a load of weathered lumber and a sketch. And we're supposed to have thundershowers this afternoon and tomorrow. I love my theater friends, but most of them don't seem to have the same watches and calenders the rest of us do. Ah well, I do have a backup plan if he can't get it together this week. And I'm decorating aroung the big empty spot in the yard until then.

I am frustrated too! I still don't have one single thing outside. UUGH! It's been extremely windy around here for a couple of weeks now. It finally got nice this past weekend but my husband threw his back out, so couldn't work on anything big, now today it's raining.

At least we are about 85% done inside for our party on the 28th. Oh well, what gets done, gets done, I'm not gonna stress out over it. (right?right!)
