I am limited on a number of things at this point... money, space, know-how, but am finding tons of ideas either just by searching the web or hanging out here. So, what I am doing is writing them down. So far I have filled 1 1/3 of the 70 sheet wire bound notebooks... does anyone else do this?

This year will be starting a book in a three ring binder with written and pictorial descriptions of each year's haunt... showing new additions especially.

Not me.I have a bunch of notebooks.I always plan on using them for writing songs but they turn out to be where I make lists.Usually of things I plan to buy but never really do.But not for actually good ideas.

I don't really have a book...just a file in my file cabinet of things I would like to copy/buy, or pages I have ripped out of magazines. I do the same thing for decorating in general. It's much easier to rip out a page you like, than keep the whole magazine.

Yes indeedee. I have a spiral notebook with photos and sketches and lists of things I'd like to do in the future with projected costs. I have a list of things I wanted to do for this year, some of which won't get done, some of which might, and some of which definitely will.

I find it helps me prioritize what will give the most bang for the buck and plan the year's budget. That, and I'm just a compulsive list-maker

Well, this is only my second year of doing so, but I'll type an itemized list of plans on the word processor. Then I'll print it out, add to it by hand for a week or 2, then retype everything in a more organized format and print it out again. By Halloween I will pretty much have written a book.

I am notorious for jotting things down on notepads and scattering across my desk. Post-its, scraps of paper, you name it. Their all over the place.

I have a file of ideas, props, etc..that I have been keeping and adding to for the past three years or so. I print off many of the "how to's" posted by forum members or from the monster list. I'll also jot down notes as to things I want to incorporate into a scene each year, and then try to work that in. It gives me something to do in the "off season."

I have a small spiral notebook that I've used as a sketchpad for my party decoration layouts & ideas. I also use it to list items I need for my costume, recipe ideas and various thingies I need to get to decorate my place.

I get inspired , sometimes as I am about to wake up in the worning, draw it, sometimes going back to it later to refine the idea and it's mechanicals, electrical.
I might begin to work on a part of it , then get distracted , forget all about it for 6 mos. Begin again, this time I think it's a whole new idea, I go to my drawing tablet and there it is! All drawn out for me!?
Another neat thing is , sometimes I don't have to all the work at once because I have already make some of the components to it 6 months previously!
I consciously try to not copy other haunted house's ideas, this is how I have made this place so unique in the 20 years of my ownership, life is too short to spend it merely copying, in my opinion.
