    Lightbulb Halloween-Themed Fish Tank

So, I've decided to convert my 10-gallon quarantine tank into a Halloween-themed tank! It'll still serve as a holding tank for new fishes until I'm sure they're healthy enough for the big tank, or a place to treat sick fishes without damaging my live plants in the big tank, but I'll bee keeping it running full-time now.

The idea is to use primarily black gravel with some purple gravel mixed in and I have a ceramic cat skull for decor. I'll stock it with "glowing" fishes like neons, black neons and head-and-tail lights.

Basically, I'm sick of setting up/tearing down when I get more fish or a fish gets sick, and I'd like to add it to my (mostly) Halloween-themed office. I'll snap a pic or two when it's done.

Anyone else ever do anything like this?

nope, my aquarium is a mixture on theme. It does sound like a really good idea though. Geez, why do other people always come up with the good ideas.......

This isn't all that easy to implement though as there's not too many spooky aquarium decorations. I think it's only wise to put items that are known to be safe for aquarium use since otherwise, you have no idea what could be introduced into the water (via paints, chemicals it may have been treated with, etc.)

Normally, I'm not into themes like this being my main tank is on a more natural theme (real driftwood and real plants), but I thought I'd have a little fun with the "hospital tank" this time around.

So far, there's four Black Neon Tetras in there that will be full-time residents and two albino corys that will be moved to the big tank once I'm sure their health is satisfactory. Once the corys are moved over, I'll probably put a school of four Glowlight Tetras (orange) in there, and then maybe some Black Phantom Tetras, Bleeding Heart Tetras or some other "evil" sounding fish.

Here's some photos of the tank shortly after setup. The bubbles on the glass are from when I filled the tank.

    Black Neons

The Black Neons actually have a strip that glows green above their black stripe, but it didn't photograph under the lighting I used very well. I should also mention that the purple in the gravel is also much more purple.

Now I need to find some gravestones or a creepy tree that will fit in there.

I love the look of the tank. Might have to do something like that with the extra ten or 27 that I have laying around.

The fish you have and want to have in there are great looking fish.

Petsmart has lots of Gargoyle aquarium decorations. They would go well with that theme.

Our local Petsmart doesn't have 'em, but I bet I can order 'em. Thanks for the tip. I may trade down to a smaller skull too, since it is a small tank.

Forgot to mention the fish pics......Dr. Foster & Smith is a great place to order supplies from. Last year I got hubby all new 'life like' plants from there and the price was good, they had free shipping at the time and they came really quickly.
