I was strolling around the web this morning when I stumbled upon this...I can't stand people sometimes....

Hmmm......you guys gotta stop posting all this stuff about complaining neighbors/people who hate halloween/etc etc. I'm ready to load up a gun and go hunting ! Seriously, this ignorant B*&%$ that wrote that has me steaming !! I could not just let this go so i emailed the following to this jackass...

You of course have the right to say what you want. Free speech and all of that. But lady, why don't you simply keep your religious beliefs to yourself. Personally i have my opinions but i'm not egotistical enough to think i should lay my beliefs on the rest of the world by posting them for all to see. Halloween is a fun innocent holiday that 99% of people have no problem with and that kids absolutly love. You can call it the devil's birthday or any of those ignorant things i often hear from control freaks like yourself, but the fact is that whatever it was derived from, today it has nothing to do with that in the minds of all but a few wackos and hasn't as long as i can remember. I pity your poor kids who will be deprived of a fun day thats made just for kids. They'll watch as other kids get to dress up in costume and go house to house having the time of thier lives. Of course this is assuming you haven't corrupted thier little minds already by telling them that a holiday that 99% of the kids in this country love is a festival of evil. How do you explain to them that all thier friends are the devil's followers? Maybe they shouldn't have friends, huh? I mean, no friends is better than satanic friends, right?

You are whats wrong with this planet. Political correctness and all that crap thats designed to remove rights one by one till theres nothing left to live for. If you just loosened up and stop obcessing over trivial things you might actually find things aren't so bad as they are, and that you don't have to spend your life fending off evil. And that there are far more important problems to obcess over if you really feel such a burning need to do so and tell the world about it on a web site. Really lady, get a life. Or at least keep your ignorant thoughts to yourself. I suppose horror movies are also on your Hit list. I enjoy both, so i suppose according to you i'm going to hell, right? Well then, see you there.......

I had to click, John, because I'm a Bellaonline editor/host too and needed to see what was going on (oh, hell, have fun: http://www.bellaonline.com/site/renaissance). It's all editorial, and not moderated. We're allowed to write our opinions and are free to have confrontational/unpopular ones. Not that I do. But this bugs me. You can tell by the dates that I haven't posted content for awhile, b/c life has been too insane. But I'm really second-guessing my involvement at all. This goes into the "con" column.

I get a kick out of these folks.

They'll parrot Jack-Chick-esque tinfoil-hat conspiracy theories about Halloween, but when pressed on the origins of Christmas (e.g., the Roman festivals of Saturnalia and Sol Invictus, among others) or Easter (a pagan celebration of the vernal equinox) they seem absolutely clueless.

Oh, well. Let them have their fun, and we'll have ours.

As long as these idiots dont' show up at my door on Halloween and tell me I'm evil, I won't hurt any of them. Maybe I should set up my full size, real guillotine just in case... LOL
