Only reasons I might not ever get married:

Children and inlaws

XD

As for scaring adults, do what my bro's freind did this year.

Dress up in a very snazzy suit and tie, (or skirt and blouse), knock on their door, and tell them that they're overdue in their payments for something (he went with electricity bill most of the time(at his grandparents house, he had his sister downstairs and switch the power off when he did this)). Carry on for a while until they get hysterical, then say "Oh, wait...it's trick OR treat, not trick THEN treat...my bad."

As his father's a lawyer, he pulled it off quite well

They didn't. He was wearing a brimmed hat (Fedora???) and dark sunglasses. Sides, his sister turned off the lights, remember? His grandparents are blind enough without having to see in the dark
