    Hi all,
I recently saw "Identity" which was an excellent movie. I also rented "Jason X" which was much better than I thought. I want to see "Wrong Turn" which looks really scary, and I can't wait for "Terminator 3" and "Freddy vs. Jason". My favorite horror movie of all time is "Re-Animator" (Uncut), but I also enjoy the uncut versions of "Hellraiser 1&2" as well. I love books ferom H.P. Lovecaft, Steven King and Clive Barker too. My favorite horror book is "The Hell Bound Heart", which inspired "Hellraiser". So, what is everyone's favorite halloween/horror related movies/books? I'd love to know, especially if you have a good suggestion.

    Ever seen the movie, "Martin??"
I like how it sort of keeps you guessing as to whether Martin is an actual supernatural vampire or just a severly disturbed individual?
I also like the old movies that I saw when I was a kid, like "House On Haunted Hill" with Vincent Price. the house used for the exterior shots is a very different looking house, not the old mansion looking thing, yet still creepy-looking the way it was photographed, I think I read that it was a very old house designed by Frank L. Wright around 1900! but it looks modern and creepy, sort of alien?
I like movies that are interestingly photographed, using strange camera-work to instill unease and trepidation!!!!

Well, lets see, I like the first two Phantasm movies (the tall man creeps me out!)Salems lot, and the original Night of the living dead. Some more recent movies that I like are Sleepy Hollow, and The Blair Witch Project. I wish I would have seen the BWP when it was still thought that it was footage of a documentary gone bad. Then it would have been truly frightening.

Whats funny is I have never seen all of what many people consider the holy grail of horror movies, The Excorcist. I always fall asleep while trying to watch it. I own it on DVD, maybe I'll try to watch it again tonight.

My dentist saw the "Exorcist" for his second time in a small apartment with a huge-screen Tv and huge speakers all around him. Even though it was his second viewing, the equiptment compensated for this and he said he was under the couch-cushion at the movie's end, just peeking out.
Another guy told me he hitchhiked 10 miles to see the "Exorcist" in a drive-in movie theater, then he had to walk the 10 miles home in the dark afterwards!
Just a few days ago, my son was telling me all about "Exorcist 2", "and then the swarm of locusts flew across Africa with the demon riding in there with them..."
I heard this buzzing sound ("Boy, he can really tell a convincing story, I HEAR those locusts!")
No, I walked a few feet down along the side of my house and there up in the tree above me was the biggest swarm of bees that I have ever seen! They were gone a few hours later, maybe they flew to Africa to eat locusts?
A young woman told me the "Blair Witch" was shown once in a band shell in the woods, and the walk to and from this location after seeing it was pretty intense!

I take my horror movies seriously and there isn't too many that I really like but here's a few of my favorites, 1.The Exorcist (Simply the best) 2.Halloween (The movie that stated the slasher flicks and in my opinion the only good one) 3.Poltergeist (Great plot, action, special effects) 4.The Blair Witch Project (I seem to like this movie more then a lot of people I know. I thought it was a good psychological horror movie with a realistic feel.)

Yep, The Exorcist is still at the top of the list. If you are religious or not, it makes you wonder just how dark and evil the other side is. The thought of taking an innocent 12 year-old and putting her through that just scares the hell out of me (speaking in the "if this really happened" vein.) It is strange though how Linda Blair's career never really did anything after that movie. I think people were really scared of her! Exorcist 3 gave me the willies, too. The guy who played th eprisoner has got to be one of the all time great psychos! When he went off on that tear in the straight jacket I was riveted. One of the best scenes ever in my opinion when it comes to spook movies!

"Jeepers Creepers" scared my ex-wife SO much when she saw it in a theater that she said "She would never watch another scary movie again!"
"And by the way, Jim" she said,"The goon in that movie reminded me of YOU!"
Married seven years and I never knew she had ever gotten to see my big wings fold out of my back!?
    My secret is out!
    I think she's a little bit goofy.........

I'm a softy when it comes to slasher movies. Don't like em. Movies that I do like are most of the cheesy old black and white 'horror' especially old scifi. Newer classics like Poltergeist, Exorcist, Nightmare before Christmas, Blair Witch Project, Ghost Busters (all), Adam's Family and Adam's Family Values. Oldies like House on Haunted Hill, all of Boris Carloffs and the like. Must see TV is 'Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown' and all the Simpsons Halloween episodes.

A question from your O.C.C.O.C.P. If you leave something in your refrigerator so long it stops stinking does it classify as a prop or jerky?
