On Halloween I only like watching scary movies like The Excorsist and the first few Halloween movies, up to the 6th. I don't like watching stuff like Ghost Ship or any new slasher films that have absolutely noting to do with Halloween. The Ring is also a great movie.

Does anyone like watching the Halloween marathons they have on TNT?
For me, that's the best part of Halloween. Also, who has seen "The Ring" . Such a good movie.
By the way, stop by www.castleofspirits.com . An excellent website.

Last year I watched this unusual movie called London After Midnight on TNT. Although the way it was televised (like a slide-show)was a little unusual, I really enjoyed it. I really liked Lon Chaney's character. He was this vampire-like character with a sinister smile and a top hat - excellent. I've heard that this film no longer exists in its original version...something about a fire at the film studio archive. How cool would it be to find a copy of this!!!

Here is a web site dedicated to the myths, and facts, that surround London After Midnight.

I am planning on building a static prop of the Chaney character from from this movie as soon as I finish my flying crank ghost. I am going to build it similar to Mr. Chaney found on this site.

Actress Chick:
I used to love the TNT marathon. That's one thing I miss performing at the Queen Mary's Shipwreck terrorfest event as a monster every year. I remember one year when TNT played the newer version of "Night of the Living Dead" followed by "Motel Hell." Now there was a double bill! I mean how can you go wrong with a whole pack of zombies and a chainsaw duel with a man wearing a pig head? Now that's entertainment!
By the way, I like the name. Are you actually an actress? If so, what have you done and where?

May I suggest Pugsley that you purchase the monster hands from Deathstudios and have them painted like the London After Midnight mask. I did this and both just arrived today. They look absolutely fantastic. It's a little difficult to shell out over a hundred dollars for both of these, but you will thank yourself in the end. I, at first, was going to build the expanding foam-like hands according to the halloweencreatures design, but alas, after looking at the overall result decided on something more detailed. I am also building something similiar to the Barlow design on the same website. Let me know if you're having any trouble with Chaney. I can help.

Thanks for the advice, Fly, I actually had that exact thought this weekend. I was at the Death Studios site looking at the monster hands, as well as the Chaney mask, and that is what I think I will do. I saw that they will paint the monster hands to match the mask, what color tint does the mask have? it kind of looks like a grayish blue color to me. I'm still trying to finish up my flying crank ghost, but I should be done with that shortly (It seems my honey-do list keeps getting longer as the weather gets warmer, and it's cutting into my prop building time!!!) As soon as the FCG is done, I will start on Chaney. By the way, I was at Wal Mart looking for cheap lanterns, and they have some for under $6.00 that would be perfect for putting a flicker bulb in for Chaney. Check it out if you need a lantern.

Already on top of that Pug. I purchased an old lantern on Ebay for right around $10 with S/H, put in a flicker bulb and switch, and routed the lamp wiring under an old cloak and landscape fabric that I used for Chaney's clothing. When I get a chance I will put up some pics of my finished work...hopefully, by this weekend.
You're right about the bluish tint of Deathstudios' Chaney mask. Oh, BTW, make sure to have them make a "Display" version and not the wearable type.

Here is a few pics that I promised you Pugsly...
...here is a close-up of the Chaney mask from www.deathstudios.com
...and here is a close-up of the lantern. I used a 1 1/2" to 3/4" reducer near the wrist of the upper body frame, cemented a 8" section of 3/4" PVC into the reducer, drilled two small holes into the 3/4" PVC and wired the lantern to the PVC. There is one small (1/8") cut in the latex hand to allow the wire to come through, but nothing significant. Now, the reducer is NOT cemented on to the 1 1/2" upper body frame. This allows me to take it apart and store it later.
Again, Pug let me know if you need any advice on this one. I was thinking about putting together an FCG a little later and I'm sure I will need some input. Thanks.
