Default Rutherford Manor Haunt 2016 Video

We finally finished the video of this seasons home haunt! It was our most successful to date, record attendance, over 1 ton of food for our local food bank, and 500-600 pet related items and substantial cash donation for the animal rescue agency we volunteer foster for!

We are deeply grateful to our amazing volunteers and to our community for all of their support.

    Hope you enjoy!

    WHOOOOOOOOAAAAAA!!!

I am so blown away by your unique cast especially! Penny Darling (the eyeless lady?) is getting my transfixed side-eyes. I can't look away! Then I clicked on over to your instagram. Victoria/umbrellabert is also a favorite. Adding: The masked character at 8:24 in your video is scary too!

    What an amazing haunt!!!

As if the stills weren't enough! Awesome video. You got some great scares too. Your actors did a great job. Again, strong work all the way around!

A few years ago you had a great home haunt....now your home is so much more. What you do now is both an annual attraction and a pilgramage destination. Its easily become one of the home haunting worlds "7 Wonders of the World"

Trex- how many rooms or "scenes" do you have??? That walk thru goes on forever --- do the people realize how LUCKY they are????? And, theres no charge, just a donation. I will have to make it to your haunt one of these years for sure.
    Now for the inquiries:
    1. at 12 secs: those black figures and tombstones-gorgeous!! What are they made of? What a great easy idea.
    2. The masks roped on to picture frames...genius and easy peasy. Love.
    3. The white cloaked figures with splatters...any real actors in there? That was a great effect too.

I could go on and on, but I love how you incorporate a lot of haunters ideas plus spectacular ones of your own and make it seamless. Bravo. I will have to see it again to see what I have missed!!

Thanks so much everyone, I totally appreciate your comments! Yes the haunt has become quite the spectacle over the years, we love it so much! I think that shows in the detail and effort each season, kids and adults love it! We had over 3000 people through and yet we still manage to stay off the television media grid, which is intentional. I have answered your questions below MM!!

    1. at 12 secs: those black figures and tombstones-gorgeous!! What are they made of? What a great easy idea. The silhouettes are cut out of black Coroplast panels. This scene was inspired by Dark Rose Manor I just love their yard displays; they are exceptional. We used 6mm and 8mm sheets, the tall cut outs are 8mm. Lighting took about 3 weeks to get right. We use black Coroplast panels all over our haunt actually.
    2. The masks roped on to picture frames...genius and easy peasy. Love. Thank you!!
    3. The white cloaked figures with splatters...any real actors in there? That was a great effect too. Yes we had up to two actors in the shrouded body room, and it was full of slaughter house scent. This scene will be gone next season.

I could go on and on, but I love how you incorporate a lot of haunters ideas plus spectacular ones of your own and make it seamless. Bravo. I will have to see it again to see what I have missed!!

I don't know what happened to my post on this thread from yesterday. Into the ozone I guess.
Anyway this is so great. So much detail. So many questions. First off do you have a warehouse to store all this stuff? How many nights do you operate. Can't be just one night with all that work. My original post asked about the size but I see you have kind of answered that in above reply. How long does it all take to set up?
I'm going to have to watch this a bunch of times to take it all in . So much to see - so many ideas to steal. Again just awesome!!! Two thumbs way up !!!!

Thank you nosefuratyou! We started setting up the silhouette display in our front yard the first weekend of September, we knew it would take a few weeks to get lighting right so we needed that scene done early. The rest takes about about 5-6 weeks to set up and believe me we are scrambling until the very last minute! We are open 4 evenings, our first night is more of a soft opening to test everything. The haunt is about 720 lineal feet and takes about 10 minutes to go through. We store 85% of it on site, this season we have had to store a few larger pieces in a couple of friend's garages!

Seriously, what you've accomplished this year...not enough adjectives. Attention to detail is meticulous, scenes are
delightfully demented, lighting spot on, divine scares, mesmerizing costumes & actors. All that and smells too! Watched this 3 times (so far).
How you've kept out of the press limelight is beyond me. Phenomenal work, T & H!!!!!!!!!

Sooooo wish I could be there in person! 5 from moi.
Elongation of the limbs can be a problem without the proper equipment.
