Yeahhh! just one more day till it's open. I look forward to their display and shop photos every year. Just wish I lived close enough to visit the place. Thanks for the heads up!
I didn't really know about Roger's Gardens until coming here ~ I'd seen pictures floating around Pinterest, but didn't know that a store put a whole Halloween display together each year. I'm really thrilled that "Something Wicked This Way Comes" is their theme name. LOVE that movie & it seems like they have been taking a bit of inspiration from the circus that comes to town.
From the before & after photos on their blog, I love the mad scientist area, the pile of frogs, the gorgeous artwork - yippee!
Just took a stroll through their Halloween set up for this year - it's fun.
Their take on a mad doctor's lab is a a great idea, and their Zoltan fortune teller is hilarious (I'm not sure about other years, but this year Zoltan appears to have had a bad electrical accident - face is burned and there's a "snapped" power line next to him, complete with flickering LED "sparks" and short circuit sound effects).
They have a moving Ouija board that is done nicely (kept away from curious hands), and plenty of wonderful eye candy to buy.
Oh sure, everything's for sale, but at least they put on a nice environment to sell everything within.
Oh man, I get so jealous of this every year. I want to go to this shop so bad to see it up close and of course buy some things !! I love those frogs in the big tub ! I just bought one of the croaking toads at Big Lots on clearance for 3 bucks yesterday but I love the look of these toads so much !! I can't wait for the video this year.
Just an update for anyone who's going: download the Phantom Finder app to your smartphone, and see if you can find "ghostly activity".
Here's the site, but the app is also on Google Play store (probably Apple as well, but I use the Note 4, an android phone): Phantom Finder Camera
Much as I hate to admit it, I didn't find any activity while I was there, but perhaps it's too early in the process for everything to be working properly. I do intend to go there again soon, and am hoping that everything is working at that point.
Neat, but I still feel that last year's was far superior. I like the black-and-white striped room and items about the best, other than the burnt Zoltan (fantastic idea). This theme could have been so majestically dark...
Drool, drool, drool....can't speak.... WANT ALL THE THINGS!!
Seriously, I watched that video with a covetous look in my greedy, beady eyes! I like a lot of the merchandise, but I *love* the merchandising!
Never have I ever wanted so many eyeball doorbells (I only have 2! Clearly my walls are crying out for 15!), I am struck with a fearsome desire to now display a tornado of whirling tarot cards above my dining table, and suddenly I have a strong wish to do a circus theme just so I can find a way to mimic those wonderful silhouette circus entertainers! And those drippy fat candles! Swoon!
Ohhhh, it was lovely! Tremendous job and I know I'll have to watch it many more times to see all the details that I missed! I so would love to go there with some fellow Forum members - I know we would all be so appreciative of the whole vibe!
I just saw that on their web site too!! Thank's for the video link Juli!
I Love everything of course, I'm so jealous of anyone who gets to go see that place!! Awesome awesome awesome!!!
Ok if you don't hear from me for a while I've disappeared and gotten lost it their photo albums. I just can't get over how wonderful the decor is in that place!
