I am going through my first round of 'Insanity' ... and my sole reason for doing this is to look better in my costume for the Haunt I am working at this year.
I am really happy with the results so far, but I still have a little ways to go! Thank goodness I have plenty of time to get there!
Halloween motivates me! When the alarm goes off at 5:00 a.m. and I do NOT want to get up, I just tell myself "you're doing this for Halloween!"... then it pushes me on!
Do you have a similar motivation for fitness results prior to Halloween? What are you working toward?

OMG, how hilarious...I am ashamed to admit that I always try to trim down in time for RenFest in the spring and then for my H'ween costume in October. LOL.
I can't believe I really just admitted that.

Hilarious responses

I am trying to get in better shape for multiple reasons, and although the holiday isn't my main motivation, looking more menacing come Halloween surely would not hurt

heh. I'm on a perpetual Halloween diet because I make tutorial videos throughout the year
The diet ramps up to a fever pitch right before Transworld though.

I typically train for a half marathon each Oct. When Halloween hits, all bets are off. I don't get back on track till after Christmas.

In short, no. It's not so much about how I look or fit into a costume that's troublesome each passing year. It's the sheer amount of bending and crouching that's killing me more every year. Not to mention just the lack of stamina. The very first decorating crouch of the season reminds me how stupid I was not getting in better shape throughout the year. I suspect this year will be no different and considering a back strain put a hurt on me early on last season, I better be really careful this year. Or........get in shape.

My exercise has nothing to do with Halloween, actually the time I spend exercising is detrimental to me accomplishing anything Halloween related these days......I dropped 40lbs a couple years ago and just don't want to put it back on. Right now I'm training to run Boston in April.
