Great movie...every haunter needs to go see this movie!
Anyway, my family was eating dinner after the movie and we began discussing how we could use certain elements from the movie in our haunt this year.
Without spoilers, the movie is set during the turn of the century. The main character is seen using lanterns or candles to light his way through the house. We were thinking about making several led/pvc/glue stick candles and handing one to each group as they go through the haunt to light their way. Of course we would have other lighting in our garage haunt, but the candle light would be keeping with our theme and add a creep factor.
We would collect the candles at the exit.
Good idea? Can you think of any problems with this? I would love to here other ideas or elements from the movie that could be used in a haunt.

I have seen haunted trails where the people are issued lanterns with frosted glass and LED candles inside. Quite a fantastic effect. I use it regularly on costumes and decorations in my own displays

Is the movie in theaters right now?

At weddings, my Aunts would poke me in the ribs and cackle "You're next!". They stopped when I started doing the same to them at funerals.

It is hard to talk about without giving away spoilers. Great movie. Do you have a long hallway? lights that go out sequentially down the hall would be a cool effect.
And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting

Yes, I was thinking the same thing about the hallway. Also, I'm looking into building a rocking chair prop, or maybe a pepper's ghost effect with a rocking chair.
