I came across a few of those cool bottles at a yard sale that you get from Bed Bath & Beyond. The ones that have pickled chilies, pepper corns, garlic buds and what not in them. I opend them up and with lots of gagging eptied the contents so I can put eyballs, entrails etc. inside. I think the liquid inside is white vinegar through the research I have done, but don't know how that would treat the eyeballs and things I want to put in the bottles.
The question is, is there a liquid or semi liquid, alcohol, water, vinegar, gelatin, hand sanitizer or what ever that will be kind to the things I submerse into it and has minimal or no evaporation.
Any help will be appreciated, Marc V.
P.S. Something that will NOT allow mold.

Anything that I what in something in a jar is put in water that is colored with food coloring. I know you can use shampoo, conditioner, and handsoap which can all be bought cheaply and Dollar Tree.

I have used corn syrup, veggie oil, and water , some have colored with food coloring some I have left clear, but that is only for things that won't rot. Have also used shampoo and colored it(just the shampoo, ) and also the cheap dollar store muscle rub alone, colored light green,,, Ogre Snot, don't ya know! I have used out door seeds, poupourri(SP?) and of course have not put anything in them due to spoilage,
I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

here is a pic of some of mine, you can't see it well in the photo, but it is quite slimy in person, I have some fishing lures in the bottle with some corn syrup, what you put in a bottle would be determined by what the "ingredient" was, I would think eye balls call for something slimy, for example!

You may want to use mineral oil, which is recommended for cutting boards since it's both non-toxic and won't go rancid like a vegetable oil will. If you want to make a more permanent prop, you may want to look into "acrylic water" from a craft store, which will harden but remain clear. There may be some way to color it with yellow or brownish tints (possibly epoxy dyes) to make it look aged.

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?
