I went to walmart today, Bad mistake. I said that i was looking for stuff i could make into Halloween props. WOW! she gave me a ear full. How she hates Halloween, that is when most kids get kidnipped, and die. You cant trust anyone, not even your neighbors, how well do you know your neighbors. Everytime i tried to walk away, she would keep going on. Then she brought up about the witches, how people really believe in them and worship them. I tried to tell her I enjoy decorating the yard, I dont get trick or treaters. I dont think she heard a word i said. Yes i could of went and complained, but where would that got me. Getting her fired. I just know to stay clear of her next time. I guess it's like a religion, You believe or you dont. It's your choice. I BELIEVE, at least Halloween fun.![]()

I would have just said, "Really? I'm still looking for my worshipers," and then given an evil cackle.
If I wasn't male.
But then again, I'm the type who would dress as the devil for Halloween and go to eat in costume at Chick-Fil-A.

That would be the time to be extremely assertive. Get in the logic truck, and run her over with it. Reverse, & repeat. Until they either give up trying to convince you, or become angry. Then report it to the manager while demanding that he review the security tape (they have many at Walmart).
I am a pretty tolerant person by nature, but I will not stand for someone trying to intimidate another. Apparently my expression while thinking, is too scary for most people to bother me.
I really have a deep dislike for people like that one you ran afoul of. :/

To me the answer is very simple. Don't bother confronting the worker; you're never going to win. Walk away, and quietly ask at Custerom Service to speak to the manager on duty immediately. If you got a name or description, it's probably still not too late to call and politely, professionally explain the sequence of events to complain. I'll bet they'll be very happy to learn about the problem now rather than, say, August.

Very responsible, polite, prudent, and exactly like something my lovely wife would say.
I on the other hand.....
OMG!!!! How fun is THAT?!?!?!? I would have worked her over the proverbial coals for as long as I could. I would have been wide eyed and nodding my head showing that I agree with her lecture, and then when she stopped to take a breath I would have quickly asked "I'm really looking for something to make a witches cauldron out of!" in a manic tone. Every time she took the slightest pause: "What about lizards, snakes and bats?!?! Do you have any of those!??!!?". Another pause: "I'm also going to need a way to create a hellish looking devil... is there a section of the store that sells horns?!?!???"
Drive her batshet nutzo....... lol. Too funny.

At weddings, my Aunts would poke me in the ribs and cackle "You're next!". They stopped when I started doing the same to them at funerals.

That is seriously annoying. You went to shop and spend money, not hear a lecture on her private views on Halloween! That kind of stuff does make me want to RUN away screaming!
I am sure she thought she was educating you, or showing you the light, but no no no. Yikes. I have had that happen before, and I just try to get away as soon as possible and avoid that person. She will never be changed, but she should learn that at ther place of work she should not go around cornering customers.
"yikes, i bet you're not the only one who evades her. hey, when halloween comes, dress up in disguise as a witch, and keep finding reasons to ask her where things are. lol. drive her stir crazy." hahahahahahaha! That is a winner! Too dang funny!

I'm the same; I let too many things slide sometimes. I detest bullies who mock others for their interests/beliefs (and bullies in general). What really gets my goat is when someone makes their point yet continues to ramble on and on and on; it's like, "You said it, now shut your freakin' trap!!"
As for the expression part, I am definitely the same
I dressed in costume on Halloween when I worked at Kmart years ago, wearing a long, black leather-look robe and doing my nails and lips black. One of the customers told his son that I was evil and not to go near me. I agree with hallo
That's what cracks me up... We are the ones who are 'evil' or 'creepy', yet these morons are thought of as 'normal'
