Well you can play any kind of music, I put that music in the video but it was not playing there (that's why the song is messed up). You usually put relatives, but you can also put anyone. Some people put celebrities (let's say Elvis, Michael Jackson, etc.) Some put their dead pets pictures, any one whom you would like to visit your altar from the other world, it's a party to remember them, to celebrate with them, even if they are not physically present (because they are dead). You can also play their favorite music, if you notice there is candy in the altar for dead children, coffe for an uncle who just loved to drink coffe, served in his special cup where he drank it. The altar you see there is a more personalized altar than a generic one, which is what I think people here want to do. But if you wish to do this with your passed away relatives, friends, or beloved pets, you can do so too. It's not a party to be sad; it is to enjoy some quality time with the living, by remembering the good times you had with those who passed away, that's why any music can be played.
