This is day four of the snow and I'm starting to wonder, has anyone ever purposefully done a "winter" theme for their haunt? I was thinking how a graveyard, mausoleum, etc. might look with some snow on top. This could be anything from adding spray foam "caps" to tombstones and painting it white, or go to the extreme of renting a snow maker (or building one).

I've never done one or seen it done for Halloween, but during the freezing months when it seems the sun will never be visible again, I've half-joked that we're experiencing the mythological Fibulwinter that precedes Ragnarok - which would be an interesting tie-in to the whole 2012 end of the world themes.

If I lived in an area that actually got snow, I'd so do it. I think graves look so hauntingly beautiful in the snow.
You say "Crazy Cat Lady" like it's a BAD thing...

No, but yetis, sinister snowmen, skeletal reindeer, and blood-drooling elves sound like fun

A winter theme would be perfect for an At the Mountains of Madness Lovecraft themed maze haunt.
Lots of ice sheets and blocks and snow everywhere, dead bodies(both human and dog) toward the beginning, some frozen Elder Things toward the middle, near the end a few jump scares with giant albino sightless penguins and Elder things, and then the BIG scare with a shoggoth.
Be prettyyyyyyy cool.

I decided about a year ago to quit shoveling the snow out of my outdoor maze. I would shovel it out , it snows again, so it goes and yet nobody "shows", then I would no longer have anyplace to put the next snow!?
I did have some different fun though, one night in a fresh snow I walked backwards through it and when the patrons walked through, they saw the footprints and this helped set them up for the scare since they thought they knew which way I had walked. (Just like "The Shining!")
Now at the tour's conclusion I open a door and show them the backyard from a nice elevated vantage point because there are some displays there, one of which I usually talk about during the show, so it should be shown.
The house and yard, covered with incredible vines, covered in snow is beautiful."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"
