I constantly see LED's being employeed in various props as single items. However I don't know of any place where I can get singles. Im wondering if anyone would be willing to share their source for single LED's. I know that they have "replacement bulbs in the light strings that you buy at the various BB stores but. I want to get them in different colors ect. Any help?

Why are you afraid of zombies anyway? They only eat brains, so you're safe

A local micro-electronics store sells them here, but be careful, there are many variations including brightness and focal angle. I don't have a good feel for all of the options yet. The only lights I have had success with is the Micro Clip-on from Jacks Tool Shed, but I just looked and I don't see them there either.
Sorry for the lack of help.

Radio Shack carries LEDS but I have a small electronic store in Ottawa that I use. My store was terrific in helping put everything togather to make sure I had everything I needed LEDS, Battery Clips, resistors, and wires. The staff even drew out diagrams for me. All that I had to do was a little soldering.
Here's a link to Radio Shack and their LED selection.

stuff like that i usaly order out of china via ebay. If you dont mind waiting a month for the package to show up they are usualy the cheapest. for example here is a 10 pack for a buck
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/10-x-LED-3mm-...item3cbb4901ab
if you keep looking im sure you can find larger quantitys for even less.
if you need instructions for hooking them up this is the refrence I usualy use.
I swear I'm not crazy its everyone else who is crazy.

After buying a few here and there from RadioShack and another local electronics store, I ended up ordering 1000 from China through ebay. It ran me $27.00, free shipping, came with the resistors and I was able to mix/match the colors I wanted. Just couldn't beat that price anywhere!

I used to do the same as The Pod. Now I just go direct to the manufacturer. I outright refuse to pay the ridiculous markup the middlemen here charge. They all get them from the same companies I deal with, and I can stand the minor wait time that overseas shipments are subject to. For the advantage of purchasing power of several order's of magnitude larger my money brings, by doing business direct.
My last order for 5mm UV 2000 mcd ultrabrights @ $.015 per led, with 1% foil resistors (including shipping). Versus, say....RadioShack @ $.995 per without resistors, with a weak 280 mcd output labeled as "Superbright". They ought to rename those "super dim". In any case, even flea bay is a much better place than buying retail.

Yea, when you need a certain color of LED in bulk, E-bay from China is the cheapest way to go.

I'd say Radioshack. They usually carry really small items like that. Good luck on your search!
