OK so I'm nuts, I guess..... Been working on my new tombstones for this year and have competed four with my fifth one almost done. I've already posted some of the pictures under "tombstones", more to come. This year there are big changes at "Deadview Cemetery" with new stones, a new front fence in the planning stages, a flying ghost which will run from the house out to the phone poll at the street and back, a stirring cauldron, don't know if I'll use a witch or a skeleton, and a couple of new animated props for the place. New ideas are always accepted just let me know. Here are some oldies but goodies pics and as I progress I will post new pictures and vids as I go. Have any of you started planning too ? poor quality it was from one of my first years inside my garage. Now the entire front yard but as I said the fence is gone and a new one will be built. A new stone already shown on "tombstones" One in progress the lines you see is part of the layering of color that will go on the stone, any better suggestions as to do this would be a huge help. The next layer, still looks plain. I've got to work on that 3-D effect and I'm not very good at that, any suggestions ? And now a finished stone, well I tried Well thanks and hope to hear from you as I post with ideas. Here is new work I have, first, two LED lights hooked up to a 12V 350Ma adapter which will be placed in front of tombstones in the yard. I have ten total LED's, purchased form BG Micro, so there will be five groups. As you can hopefully see the light produced is going to be enough to light up the stones. I will try and get a good picture at night. The third project I have just started is using LED's to light up the cemetery name,"DEADVIEW CEMETERY". I have run the connection thru 3/4" sch 40 PVC and will paint the PVC black and attach one LED to each side of the entrance so the light up the name. Each piece of PVC is only 4" long and I plan on using strapping to screw to the top. More to come, we will see how this all turns out as it comes together. Let me know what you think and ideas are welcome. Thanks.

Reason: new pictures and info.
It's really starting to take on an aged look! What helps with the 3D look is using Drylok or a similarly textured paint. Once you dry-brush it, it helps give it that stone look depth. Don't remember if you said you used that or not. Either way though it's really looking good right now.
Here's another technique you could try: Layering different colors also helps give it that depth. For example here's a stone of mine that is at the step (but prior to drybrushing) you are showing in those pictures above:
And here's a picture of the same tombstone with drybrushing with white and then added layers of raw sienna (rust) paint (for a lichen look) and blotches of white (for a while lichen look). See how much more depth it gives the stone with these simple additions? But, you must be careful, you can easily go overboard so less is more here:
Thanks for the advise Terra the stone looks real good and I'll use that on the next ones I work on but now I'm working on a cauldron with Skelly stirring the pot will post it soon.
