If I end up with either a garage haunt or pergola haunt area this coming year, I'm keeping a look out for "wall" material. The other day while at Costco I came across a 2-pack of what looks to be great heavy duty tarps. 12 foot by 16 foot, maximum weather protection, 22.99 (11.50 ea). The material is kind of like a heavy Tyvek material, in either brown or construction blue. The reverse side is silver gray. I was liking it for the brown color. Good overall dimensions and nice solid weight to keep wind out too, and obviously waterproof. The packaging has two swatches attached to the top showing others' "standard" tarp material compared to this products material. I grabbed a photo and will come back to post. Can't read a SKU for it unfortunately.

Anyway if you have a Costco near you and are in the market for something like this, try to get by to check out. This kind of stuff sells out pretty quickly. Hey and if you have kids that like to make tents in the backyard with a rope tied between two trees, this would make a great tent for them, nice and roomy.

Before going out to buy a pack or two of this, love to hear what you guys have been using. I could see using the black, much thinner plastic sheeting material for making interior wall separations but would like much heavier duty material for the outer walls that will subjected more to the weather and wind. Probably use for the double garage span or the four walls around our dining pergola.

BTW i found something similiarly sized and brown in color at Home Depot, 32.98, and that's only for one tarp, so Costco would be like 3 tarps for the price of 1.

If you look closely at my profile photo and my Avatar you will see (behind all the fog) silver curtains. I used 9 panels to make them the worked out better than annything you cold imagine. If your wondering, (even if you already know)what the panels are they are made of Emergency Blankets... Each one costs 1.99 at most places and believe it or not they are "see through" Which brings me to another Idea. Thanks for that Ghost, I've been trying to address the "Monster in the mirror" issue and how to do it. Simply flatten out the material between two panes of glass. Light one side and keep the otherside in the dark... to have the wanted effect have the monster flash lit by a strobe as the lights in the viewing room dim momentarily. The impact will be perfect.

Again Thanks Ghost. And just so you all know... being able to see through it works great for frights if you have an actor to jump out. However the see through issue (as I'm sure you have already figured out) makes lining a seperation path problematic if you want to keep the ghosties and such hidden from ToTs that havent gotten that far yet.

As soon as I have a couple of bucks you can be sure I will be running up to my local Costco.-- I need another case of coke )

Patrick, I had no idea that the space blankets could be seen through. I know you can use black landscape fabric as a scrim to do something similar to what you are looking to do. Is the blanket made from a silvery quilted-like material or a thin mylar type of material? Unfortunately I couldn't really see your Avatar well due to its size, do you have an album somewhere with a larger image?

Back to haunt walls though, I'm thinking my garage double door is at least 7 feet high and our pergola is higher than that so I really need some decent height and width to the material. Before buying anything I guess I should be measuring my openings first.

Yeah... you can see through them... though it's kind of milky but you can see through. I'm going to have to replace them this year and when I do I will check the clarity because I did most of my peering through them in the dark with low light on the other side. Also I posted an Album so you can get a better look at the walls.
