Thread: Face Off

Just stumbled upon a pretty cool show. It is on Sci Fi network called "Face Off". It is one of those competetion shows but the competitors are horror makeup artists. I have only watched the first two episodes that were saved "On Demand" but pretty cool ideas and techniques. I wasn't aware the show existed but thought I would shared.

Gatordave, Save the 11th of Janurary on your calender. The new season is starting. I'm trying to figure out where to get the latex and silicone mixes these guys use... I could really use them to make my own monsters.

Watched last year and then met 2 of the contestants at Transworld this year. They were really nice guys! Trouble remembering their names... the shorter stalky guy with the mohawk and the younger guy with dark hair and tatoos.. really blue eyes. The shorter guy had a booth and was selling masks. Bought one of them, a pig face.

I was wondering what that show was about.

Gatordave, we were talking about the show on HF when it first aired. There was a thread or two under the Prop section since the show basically involves masks, costuming and some props, also scenery.

Not sure which episodes you caught but check the Sci Fi channel's tv schedule by searching for the title for any upcoming listings (BTW they call it SyFy now). They reran the Season 1 eps a few times already but probably will again at least once before the new season starts. The network website should also have some recaps on Season One shows as well as photos of some of the tasks.

Oh, and members also try to list it in advance in the Halloween TV showings thread (sticky at the top of the General Discussion section). Hope you'll join in the discussion in the prop thread when the new season starts.

Thanks Spookie. After seeing it, I thought there would be a thread but couldn't find it. I also realize what I saw was season 1 and season 2 starts this month. Will definitely join the discussion. Thanks!

This is a very cool show. I met tom at Midwest Haunters convention last June. Got a picture with him and talked to him a while about Haunt stuff. He was a very nice guy. I can't wait for the next season. Also watched Making Monsters during October with Distortions, another very cool show.

Between my schooling my kids, prop building and face off I'll be lucky to get out of 2012 with a wife (Let alone alive if the Mayans have their way) It's going to be a great year!!!

Just watched the season premiere, they did Wizard of Oz interpretations, some were very cool! It is on Wednesdays at 10:00 Eastern.
