Sadly, while we were away on Christmas Day, some powerful winds came through the area, clocked at 56 MPH gusts. The wind proved too powerful for the apothecary tower attached to the garage and the top half ripped off and fell down onto the driveway. Fortunately, the cars were gone, so there was no damage to anything else, but the tower is a complete loss.
The good news is I was already drawing up plans for a remodel of the garage (and the entire front of the house) so this is just one more reason to move forward!

Sad to see all the damage but glad that no one was hurt.

Well, that sucks....Did you guys have any warning? THey had a big one here a couple weeks ago, and although the Weather Service nailed the forecast, I know a lot of folks that had no clue it was coming and didn't have the time to secure everything

That does suck! Luckily, nothing else was seriously damaged. The winds hit us late morning and the lights flickered several times but we didn't lose power (unlike my friend who family was without power all Christmas day). Checking my iPhone, I noticed that there was a high wind advisory for the region till 3pm with gusts up to 50 mph, but I didn't know till it hit.

I absolutely hate the wind when it comes to Halloween. The two definately do NOT mix.

Looks like I'm going to order a dumpster (or get one of those Bagsters) to get rid of all the damaged facades. It's a really good thing I was planning a majoy remodel this summer.
