I thought of different things that'd be cool to see as haunt ideas.
The haunted drive-in: Show iconic horror movies, and, while the killer is offscreen, have him roaming the parking lot.
The terror camp: Have it as a vacation format, where people come for the week, or weekend to a camp. Have daytime activities, but at night, have haunted hikes, zombie paintball, etc.
Haunted hotel: Buy a house, but have it rigged to scare customers silly.
Drive through haunt: This idea combines haunted attractions with drive through light displays. Have patrons roll down their windows, or give them a tape or cd with music or a backstory, with boo type scares, so they won't freakout and drive off of the road. The characters can come close to the road, but not the car. What do you think?

Before I got my house I was asking everyone about any really odd entertainment venues out there and how successful they were? I discovered a Medieval Feast, people sit around a table, eat food, throw food, insult the "Wenches", grab "Wenches', have to wear a silly hat as punishment and more.Lots of fun for the customers but not for the help. Strict rules became made and enforced, the business died. Grabbing Wenches=a No-no!
The Safe House, a hidden restaurant/tavern hidden in Milwaukee, you must figure out where it is and how to pass from the phoney bookstore into the safe house. It has been there a long time, still going strong.
I heard about a summer camp in England where they specialize in constantly insulting the guests! Very popular! (Might Not work here though!)
Entertainment is what people seem to crave. How is entertainment defined? Well it can't remain the same forever or it won't be very entertaining will it?
Your ideas seem like fun and your combinations of concepts could make people feel like it is all something "New".
I have been trying to "sell" people on the idea of going to a Haunted House" all year, now for 25 years , but October is still and will always be THE Time for the huge majority of those fans who are out there.
I do a lot of different things here to stimulate the customers too, most of them not done and not found within other things that are called a" haunted house".
The tour here requires from 60 to 90 minutes and this is a "Haunted", Haunted House. I storytell (Non-Fiction) I lead them through, I also use much humor and attempted humor. Almost everything they will see or get entertained by in my house I have created, not copying other people's stuff (I believe this also helps me stay in business)
And, of course everything I have described here I have built, repaired and it took and continues to take most of my time and energy, but it sure is much fun and I would never trade it for a barn full of milk cows who must be milked twice EVERYDAY! (Although some similarities do seem to exist..)"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

I absolutely love this idea; just have really good insurance.
I want to go there NOW, as an adult much less a kid.The terror camp: Have it as a vacation format, where people come for the week, or weekend to a camp. Have daytime activities, but at night, have haunted hikes, zombie paintball, etc.
Been done many times.Haunted hotel: Buy a house, but have it rigged to scare customers silly.
I think this is an awesome idea, but would take a ton of money to pull off well. Something like this could well become a big yearly attraction though. I wish something like this happened around here, I'd volunteer every yearDrive through haunt: This idea combines haunted attractions with drive through light displays. Have patrons roll down their windows, or give them a tape or cd with music or a backstory, with boo type scares, so they won't freakout and drive off of the road. The characters can come close to the road, but not the car. What do you think?

How about a Camp Crystal Lake theme for couples where your objective it to get in, get laid, and get out before the masked killer gets you. If they make it, they get a "I Got Laid at Camp Crystal Lake and Lived" pin or shirt.

The Drive Through Haunt would either have to have a substitute driver for the car or shut off the car and have the haunted things come up to it. Or it would be shut off, put in neutral and a tow line attached to the car as the whole car becomes the car in a dark ride situation.
Possibly scaring someone as they are responsible for driving a car in a safe, normal style or manner could lead to a great number of bad experiences fro a large number of people.
If everyone was driving their own cars at least a big , soft rubber bumper would have to be temporarily fastened to the back of every participating car. Sudden braking would make for crash-booms otherwise."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

The camp thing would take people back to their camp days. Love the Crysral Lakevand towing car ideas. The drive-in could also be a side attraction for a haunt, and even to increase revenue for the rest of the year.
