Sifting thru some old pics of last Halloween season, I came across the pics of what I consider the greatest Halloween score that Ive ever seen. The ad was basically a rich couple who bought 1,000's of dollars worth of Halloween stuff for their childs birthday party. Some of the stuff they had before also. So basically his ad read..."after the party, everything is for sale in ONE BIG LOT...accepting offers". He had alot of WOW FACTOR stuff....two Leatherface animatronics, lifesize skeletons, etc. It was this unbelieveable statue of a snake woman that had my jaw hit the floor.
I called this guy up that minute. His first bid was $1500.00, thats a solid first bid from someone who knew what they were doing. I was getting this no matter what. I called and said where do you live, his answer......3 hours away, time stopped. I live in an apartment and dont have a truck. I then tried to decide if it was worth, renting a storage unit and UHAUL, my conclusion....I had to let it go.
In the end I dont know how much he sold it for, but I would've bought it for the snake lady and sold everything else. I have never seen the snake lady ever again on any site, if I found her I'm sure she'd be $800.00, and I NEVER pay retail. Look at the pics, look at the main pic and see all the stuff in the yard. Then clean the drole off your keyboard. SARCAZMO.

... I dunno, Sarcazmo. For a haul of that size and with that much quality stuff in it, I might have had to MAKE that happen.
As for the snake lady, she is indeed unique. You could make something similar with minimal effort, I'm guessing, if you have the least experience with hobby-type stuff. The main stumbling-block would be the snake itself.... but smaller snakes are out there. Her costume would be really easy to make, especially if you used a regular mannequin. That way you don't have to make the bra and panties from scratch, you can buy some and add some gauze and fake jewels or sequins.
EDIT: Here's a relatively inexpensive mannequin with her arm up - and there are others out there. WARNING, NOT SAFE FOR WORK PIX!

What I probably would have done in your case would have been, "Hey how 'bout $800 for the snake lady?" and see what he said. Don't know till you ask! ;-)Farewell, Summer. I hated you dearly. - Pumpkinrot

Very cool statue!!And it would have been a dream haul for sure. You could probaly use the snake lady for your own version of the prop.

Wow! That's amazing seeing it all strewn on the driveway. It's like a beautiful mirage.

I agree with Terra, and Serpentia...a beautiful mirage of halloween that I would have had to MAKE happen....
Just selling off the stuff that I didn't want/need piece by piece would have paid for the lot...and then I would have kept the stuff that I wanted.
great find though....WISH that I could find somehting like that around here.....

I believe I just shattered my jaw from it hitting the floor. I think those rich people should adopt ME so I can keep the props from my birthday celebration? Are the snake lady and the ?vampire guy commercially made pieces or one-offs?

I'm waiting for any info about the SNAKE LADY. The renting of a Uhaul, the lack of space, and the gas would have meant an addtional $300 to $1,000.00. I would've had to rent a storage space.

Do you still have the seller's email address? Perhaps you could write and ask if they remember where they bought it.

Yep, what Serpentia said: make your own snake lady if she would work well in your haunt. Serpentia has even located a mannequin in a similar pose for the project.
But I can imagine having a hard time suitably explaining that purchase to my wife.

I would think an explaination of the project, along with [perhaps] a request for her to help with accessorizing, would do the trick. Show her a picture of the original snake lady: "I want to make this. Will you help me?"
After all, this is a MANNEQUIN - not a real woman - you would be ordering. Hardly competition, I'd think.
