So I am venturing into monster mud this year for the first time. I notice that everyone seems to use burlap. Has anyone tried polyester? Would it have the same effect? Thanks for all your fantastic advice!

Ive heard rumors that the tighter weave gives it a different texture, now that can be solved through more mud and dryloc even. Also it might be alittle less rigid, due to the loose weave of the burlap it makes a strong medium.
We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside of us

The tighter the weave will give you a slightly different texture. As well as your mud to paint mixture. I made a Sam last year and used regular kids pajamas and it worked just fine. Just make sure you really work it into the fabric. Don't paint it on.
