Stopped in today to a Tuesday Morning and by chance walked up the toy aisle. Found some fun things that I'm going to incorporate into my halloween displays. I'll come back and post a few photos. I'm mentioning these because other TM stores may have these items right now as well. Great pricing on them too.

A Revell Universal Studios Monster Collection "The Mummy" model kit. Level 3 difficulty (most difficult of their kits) requiring gluing and painting. Ages 12 and up. Height 8-3/4 inches. Reg. 22.96/sale 16.99/TM price 9.99

Expedition Treasure Hunting Kit. Mayan Temple of the Jaguar. Someone posted looking for some archeology kits party guests/kids could "dig" into. This is one of those kits. I wanted it for a 3D model to use for planning purposes on a jungle haunt theme. Reg 9.99/sale 7.99/TM price 4.99 and it rang up 3.99 on markdown.

National Geo Prehistoric Skeleton Kit, Pterosaur model (think pterodactyl-like bird). Price label was 2.49 and rang up 1.99 on markdown. Again plan to use as a 3D model for a prop.

National History Museum "Following Gorilla" Face. There was a thread a few months back on HF on optical illusion models like those used in the Disney Haunted Mansion that look like the bust's eyes follow you as you pass in front of them. This is one of those 3D displays. You light it from behind to get the full effect. The gorilla face is concave on the reverse side and this is the side you view for the effect. Not sure yet how I will use this but will find some way to incorporate into my jungle theme or circus/carnival theme. Reg 14.99/sale 9.99/TM price 1.99. Picked up two of these guys.

Totally unexpected finds and goes to show it pays to check out all the aisles in these stores because you don't know what you will find.

BTW if anyone is looking for "dig" kits like the Mayan one above, here's a link to the company's website. Check out the Expedition, Dig & Discover, and Classroom Kits menus for items like this.

    those give me some ideas!!
"We accommodate the living, but who shall accommodate the dead?"

"We say haunted, but we mean the house has gone insane."
