If you're like me, you were finishing up things right as the first ToT-ers walked up this year. Did any of your props or decor "fall victim" and not get put out this year?
I bought the Spirit Harvester prop, and he never made it out of the box due to time constraints. Which, I guess is cool, considering he can be new for next year. I also got a couple new large bluckies I didn't have time to put together, and a "spiderweb victim" from Walmart I didn't open.
So those, combined with the things I got on sale after Halloween, mean I pretty much don't need to buy anything next year! (yeah right...)

Yes! I thought I had time to get everything done, but I spent to much time repairing items due to our high winds or my kids.
I have numerous packages of creepy cloth that didn't get used.
I didn't get my ghost ring built this year.
I left a couple of skeletons in storage and some other small props.
I failed to get my latex groundbreakers out.
Oh, and because of the windy conditions, I didn't get out my web gun. I've had the thing for two years and have yet to use it.

A number of litle things didn't make the display this year, mostly set detail stuff like chains, faux barbed wire, moss and the like. I too have some new things that have not been put out for two years now because of time constraints. A few things conspired to put me under the gun on halloween day- namely work the day before and bad weather during the week. But really, I'm the only one that knew. The amount of stuff that WAS out there made quite an impression, even on me. And that's close enough for jazz. There's always next year to nail it!

Yes I'm guilty of forgetting something. I bought a bunch of landscaping lights from Walmart that had crackled glass globes back in July. I just wanted the globes. I was going to use them in my decorating with some flashing LED's to light up the haunt. I put them in a box on a shelf and while we were packing everything away I saw the box sitting there.
Oh well it gives me months to get these things worked out so I can use it next time.
I never put up everything because we just have too much stuff. I actually started purging some things that haven't been used in years. No point in keeping something that hasn't been used and never will be again.Boo!

I waited way too long to start my tombstones and only two were finished with lettering. The rest were hastily dry-locked grey so they could at least be put up at a distance. I will definitely be working on these throughout the next year, especially if I want to create the detail that many members have shown in their tombstones. I bought fabric for but never built my life-sized Oogie Boogie Man for my Nightmare-themed bathroom (the downstairs bathroom has a full shower that will be "Oogie's lair"). No big deal, since next year's entire Halloween theme will be Nightmare Before Christmas and it will be the perfect time to make him. I never tell anyone what my plans are for the year, that way if I fail to get something done, nobody else will know and no matter what I'm still "the good house".

Bah. Terrible victims of that this year! I got stuck in the hospital for 2 weeks at the beginning of Oct. and it completely threw us off this year. We didn't get out our casket, bride and groom, 8 foot reaper, skull blood fountain, giant JOL, animated giant bat, spider victim, life-size kneeling devil, and our shelf for our witch bottles! It was by-far our worst year yet...
Thankfully most people enjoyed what we had and only a couple remembered that we were missing some items. (we also of course added some new items so that helped take people's minds off what was missing.)

About 25% of my collection of props didn't see Halloween night. I have so much stuff to do, and this year, I hurt my back really bad. I also forgot some props in the basement, like my Skeleton in a cage, my Lurching Vampire wasn't ready, all my PVC bodies props were not done, I was suppose to have a SILENT HILL Theme portion of the hant, didn't have time to do nothing of it much. Next year, we start everything is September instead of October. We learned our lesson this year.

My son told me a couple of years ago, "Dad, you're the only one that misses things that don't get put out". And, he's right - they don't miss what they don't see. There's generally enough that does get out. As for this year, the new things were finished with minutes to spare, but ran out of time to fix some of the broken stuff from last year that I kept meaning to get around to. Note to self - make a list and check it twice.
