I ended up picking up a vintage nurse costume from Halloween Asylum on sale today. I have some skelly doctor/hospital-type props already so could use it as prop costume in that setting but I've been toying with one year doing a tribute of sort to Rod Serling and The Twilight Zone. Figured I'd pick a few of my favorite episodes and work scenes around them. "How To Serve Man" might be one.
When I first saw HA's vintage nurse costume, I immediately thought of "Eye of the Beholder" -- lady needs facial surgery and everyone is horrified at her when the bandages are removed; the woman is revealed to be a beautiful faced woman and then we see that all of her doctors and nurses (ie everyone else in her world) have faces with pig noses. I've seen those pig nose accessories in the kids' costume section for quite a few years now and they also keep reminding me of this episode.
For some reason I also keep picturing the entrance to the walk thru haunt being a hotel lobby that when the elevator opens you have entered The Haunt Zone. Figure this would be a good place for a fog machine (side entrance for anyone who wants to avoid the fog).
What do you guys think of doing something like this around The Twilight Zone theme and are there any suggestions that come to mind? Do you guys recall a ventroloquist dummy episode? I have a dummy mask I could put to use.
If I can find a way of working it into a scene or the entrance maybe, I have this clock that might look cool and give the idea of twisted time:

I think it's a great idea. Can't go wrong with something classic like that, though many (if not most) of the young TOTs may not understand or appreciate the Twilight Zone theme as an homage to the groundbreaking science-fiction television anthology series, especially if they've never watched it before. Then again, the distinctive theme music and the phrase itself have long since entered into popular culture -- so the kids will probably recognize those elements.

How about pulling from these episodes: The Living Doll (My Name is Talky Tina and you'll be sorry), The Masks, Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (maybe create an airplane window with projected images from outside the window)? and yes there was an episode entitled The Dummy. I have the mask from this costume that I picked up from Spirt last year: http://www.buycostumes.com/Demented-...uctDetail.aspx
What episodes scared you that you remember seeing as a kid?

Sounds like a great idea for haunt scenes.
What about the the one where the little kid keeps getting calls on his toy telephone from his dead grandmother? He tells his parents that she says she misses him and he ends up killing himself in the end. That one's a classic. Had Billy Mumy from Lost in Space as the kid.
Love the clock! Where did you find that?

Thanks Dave, that would a great one to work in. Maybe do something like the ghost phone from Spirit. I seem to recall someone on the forum a while back did a cool phone prop that could be triggered and play a mesage back. Might have to find that tutorial and give some thought to it. BTW I remember that episode and loved Billy Mumy in it.
The clock I got from Ross Dress For Less, think my album said the price was $17 something. It's a cool clock. I bought it a while ago but on more recent trips to Ross have seen more of them there in case anyone wants to try to find it.

I was looking at the intro scenes to TZ over the years on YouTube. And was thinking about the ones with the twinkling stars in the background. I bought several packages of green LED firefly lights this year, not sure from whom right now, but if I had yellow ones, they could look like stars twinkling maybe. Has anyone seen a yellow version of firefly light strands?
