    Hi,

I have read here a lot and i like to state that this forum and all the available resource in the web mainly done by you US citizen made my 2011 Halloween day possible.

THANKS A LOT to all off you. !!!!! Now i`m really addicted ... and here is a big post for you

Some Background: I`am from Germany and hey people here do know Halloween but they don’t decorate like you do
Last year (2010) i started with some self made tombstones wich I did the day befor just to have something in front of the house. I got great feedback so i straight decided to getting more done for 2011 and set myself a goal.
Some thombstone (wich i already had), 1 or 2 Skeletons with moving jaw and simple red LEDs all controllable from my PC using a DMX software and some Sounds and lights.

Due to the fantastic docs, pages and videos i was more then possible to actually achieve this and the Feedback from the neighbours, Trick and Threatenrs and my friends where fantastic !!!! Even so i had this Display only there on Halloween from 16:00-22:00 and the programming was far from complete I would say.

    Some overview:
2 Skeletons with moving jaw and red LED (both controllable)
1 Crow with red LED eyes
    Thombstons
Low fog (using a fogger and a chiller with dry ice)
Monster in a Box (Sound and light and one cylinder)
    8m Fance
Controll and Audio system using a PC (Sunlite Suite 2), 6 (+2 for next year) Audio Channels using a 8 channel Audio card and Multichannel wav/avi files. All DMX as I have loots or DMX device around.
A projector with the windows projections

Due to the Feedback  we will go for more next year. Depending a little bit on where to go with the overall theme - Pirate or Graveyard I want to have 1 addition Skeleton (Pirate or Graveyard keeper) with 3 Axis Skull. A hughe Spider for the roof of the house, and if Graveyard a pneumatic Ground breaker … saaaaaying Brains Brains Brains ….. and if Pirate then maybe a big steering wheel for the pirate ….. not sure ….. and some improvement to the monster I a Box prop (Top should open completely and eg. A Wolf`s head is shown)

Here we go for some pics 

Again …. THANKS a lot you made this possible….

    Holger (CaptainChaos)

P.S. Hey and if you dont like my english .... i`am german and hence i dont care

Yeap those are LED Bars. each is splitted in 3 parts which can do RGB.
(i have access to abute 30-40 of them hence i decided to use them for the light)

I had the either green or blue and on very low level.
Due to the fact that they where close to the ground on the fence (one reason for the fence) nobody could realy see them from the street.

Also i used them to flash in near white on a track with rain and thunder`s .....

In addition i used a few smal spots and RGB LEDs within the Monster in a Box.

However i need to improve here as well.
    - I need more small Spots (warm white and dimmable) to highlight specific items .. eg. Skelleton 1 or 2 or both
    - Also a couple of small strobes would be great to eg highlight the crow when she make`s noise.

But this is what makes it addicting as well. As soon as Halloween has past i where discussion how to improve next year ....
