I think this is mentioned in the after Halloween discounts thread cause I remember reading someone asking if they had any skulls left at Walgreen's cause of their quality, so I went to Walgreen's to see what the fuss was about and... holy crap, realllllly nice quality for 3.00 half off. I was instantly drawn to them scanning the Halloween clearance section and groaned a audible "whoa!". Its funny cause your looking at all the generic stuff they put out every year and boom!... these skulls look out of place. I think I like them better then the realistic skulls at spirit this year I bought in the 50 percent off sale. So I bought 5 of them! I may travel to all the local Walgreen's on Monday to see if I can find more, has these would make great skulls to put on pillars or for any Halloween idea.
Sorry for the gushing lol, but I had to blab about these, a steal at 3.00 a piece!

Nice deal. Had picked up two of them (one open-mouthed, the other closed) last year for $5.99 each, but they're definitely a quality product.

Glad you found some still on the shelf. I posted at one point that I found skulls at two of my Walgreens locations on 50% off sale but that was on 10/28. I bought all six (only 2 open-mouthed) that they had on the shelf at one of the locations. Should have picked up the other 2 skulls at the other location but I really wanted the open-mouthed ones. My stores have packed up all their halloween already. Surprised you were able to find any halloween left on the shelf today.

They do make great toppers for columns. I bought 15 of the open mouthed ones this year and thought they were a great deal at $6 each. Here's how mine came out before we extended the dripping candle wax down on to the skull -

They've had these for several years now (and Big Lots has been ripping people off for several years now selling them for $9) but this is the first year they ordered enough to last through clearance, until now they'd only have about 4-8 per store. I bought open mouthed ones before clearance because there always seems to be less of those (the first year I didn't see any). At $6, they're quite competitive with skulls from other stores, the only negative being not having an articulated jaw, and several of the ones in Spirit just looked way too small (were they going for skeleton children to go along with the zombie children?). Definitely a must-have! The only problem with the open jaw ones is that my sister mentioned right before I put some outside that the lizards would probably start living in them. So I only put the closed ones outside!

I was so impressed by the Walgreens skellys that next year I plan on getting a few online early. Stunning how something so cheap can look so good & it's miles better than a Blucky.

How is THAT a negative??? Lizards crawling out of the skulls of your Halloween display? And you're complaining?

I bought two of these on November 1st - I was super impressed by the quality as well! I'm thinking future post toppers.

Until you go to put them away and wind up with a dozen more lizards inside the house. We have enough that sneak in without being carried in! (already did that with a few that blended in with the tombstones I took in to repair). Also they're too cute to be scary! Now if I could get snakes to crawl in and out...
