That ground breaker came out great - really creepy!
What did you use to make your low graveyard fence? I've been thinking of making a short one for a section of our front yard.

I have a low temp glue gun I just didn't think of it since the high temp one was easier to find & I thought I might need it for other things. It just never occurred to me they'd melt, seriously, didn't think once about it. It works on this guy to have weird misshapen nails, but lesson learned.
To quote the great Bob Ross, "There's no mistakes, just happy little accidents!"
So he's mostly one happy BIG accident, but only me & now youse guys know this! Which is why I don't sweat little things on projects like this anymore, the people looking at him don't know his arm was supposed to be higher or that the nails melted, etc. etc., they just seem him & think he's cool or gross or whatever.
I got those nails at Walmart several years ago. I got about 3-4 sets for the price of one because they were all sandwiched together. They came in a plastic coffin shaped container (which I saved) & there were 3 or 4 sets all stuck together. I didn't learn this until I got home. I knew I'd need them one day & I did! Oh the benefits of Halloween hoarding!!

The coloring was flat brown primer, hit with some flat black on the recessed areas, then I dry brushed some dark green craft paint, then some beige-y craft paint, then the hubby came in behind me & did the serious small bits of dry brushing with a lighter beige, red & purple then hit it with a high gloss spray finish. The gloss really made it. We were cutting it close so most of the back isn't dry brushed as well, but I'm pretty content with it.
The teeth are toothpicks, some broken, painted the same beige-y color. They're toothpicks because the hubby suggested it & I couldn't think of another option in my frazzled brain at the time. They're just stuck in a wad of pulp mache. I figured if I didn't like it I could easily change it.
I learned a lot with it since it was the first mache groundbreaker I've ever done, so next time it'll be even better but different.
Also, I bought a second battery on Overstock last nite for $5 so no more dead camera batteries!!

Mrs. O sez: "I'm glad he found a good home and that he looks like he's having a good time."
The hat rocks. Really. Tell me about the glass he's holding up--looks like some kind of beer glass. Is it from a Tex-Mex restaurant or something?
