Greetings. I've checked out quite a few pictures and videos from the forum members here and I must say I am impressed with alot of the originality and creativity amongst you. Especially the ones who build their own props. That is very time consuming and patience is a must I'm sure. I've been doing a display in my yard for the past 5 years. Every year we seem to get more and more trick-or-treaters. This year we had almost 200. It is a blast to see some of the kids not wanting to come up to the front porch to get candy because they are scared. Especially with the life size figures along with the horror movie soundtracks, i.e. Halloween, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. It is also great that people want to take pictures with me as I am dressed up as Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees as I have done the past few years. This year I was a werewolf and that seemed to startle the kids more this year than before, considering the crouching positions I was in, ready to leap towards them as they passed by. I've always wanted to have one of those houses that the kids would remember year after year, knowing they will get a good scare along with candy. The day after I put it all away except for my lighted Linus display. He is still waiting on the great pumpkin.
This past year has been somewhat difficult with our 3 year old daughter being diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder and being on the low end of the autism spectrum. I know there are quite a few parents here who have children with some form of a disability. Always be strong and love your children and do the best you can to get them the services they need to get better. Even though our daughter has this condition, it is so incredible that she understands the part of dressing up to trick-or-treat for candy from house to house. She had a great time and she is definately ready for Christmas. Below is a link to our youtube picture slideshow you are welcome to check out. Also I will post a few pictures in general so you get the idea of how our haunt was displayed. Hope all your families had a great harvest.

Nice setup, The Wolf Man. I thought for a second that Donald Duck was dressed as Santa, though
