Thread: Who do you build your haunt for?

I wonder.. do we build our yard haunts for the kids? The adults? both? or ourselves?
I would think Yard haunts are an expression like an art so we build it for ourselves for the most part but I do get alot of satifaction in the eyes of people walking down the path looking at the props and decorations to get to the candy.

I am mainly a big kid and up Haunt. I really do not focus on the little ones and I do not scare them. Whereas everyone else is a victim wanting to happen.

We do it for the TOT's and their parents. We get substantial numbers and the crowd realy appreciates what we do. If we didn't get any TOT's or got small numbers, we wouldn't nearly as much as we do.

First and foremost it is for me. The thing is if you build it they will come and the kids and their parents love it. I had ToTs for 3 hours then I had parents asking questions for the 2 hours after the ToTs were in bed

Lol would it be bad if I said that it was for me?
I just love Halloween and I love seeing the look on TOT's faces when they see our haunt.

I do it for the passion. The producer does it to market her business and give back to the community. Win win!

My love of Halloween and our kids were really the inspiration of why we started, it is our 5th year and the kids still absolutely love it! I just love seeing the families come out, the ToT's, their parents, our neighbors and many of our kid's friends go out of their way to enjoy our "Halloween house"! I have had so many neighbors thank us for what we do for our community, and the spirit it brings. It is just so much fun!

I do it for my children because they've always loved Halloween especially my middle daughter. I know she's 23 now but she was always my biggest helper to get things done. Next year she'll be done with college and her part time job and hopefully she'll help me again.

I do it for my close family and friends because they've come to expect me to do these things. They appreciate my efforts and know what goes into it. My Sister-In-Law came out in the NE blizzard to my party because she couldn't miss it. Her husband wanted to transform her into a corpse at the time. She could have become part of the Haunt next year. Others tried to make it but had to turn around because of the weather. Some came the next day just to see.

I do it for myself because I just find it amazing that I can actually create some of these things. I know I take a lot of ideas from here and other haunts but I like making it all work and amaze myself. I guess I'm just still a kid at heart.

i ALWAYS LOVED DOING THE SETUPS AND BUILDS WITH MY SON THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR HE STEPT BACK A BIT MAYBE BECAUSE HES IN HIGH SCHOOL NOW DONT KNOW BUT I LOVED HAVING HIM INVOLVED.

I do it because i LOVE IT! AND i love being "that" house lol. I am the only one in my area that does it up big, so i like the cool factor HA HA! I just love the parents and kids faces though and hearing them say this is AWESOME! Or this is great. So i love seeing it and feeling accomplished when i get what i want from my set up, but i love the feeling from others as well!
