It seems to me in my lifetime Halloween costumes were first generally for kids. tons of kids. Not many costume shops. Either you made them or you got the boxed Ben Cooper costume with the rubber-band and smock. then the scare was set out people are putting poison in the candy and razors in apples, soon costumes were for families because children were kept home mostly. Then the adults kept with the tradition and dressed up in costumes and kids are back in the game and kids are back in the game trick or treating when kids of old who missed those days have children of thier own and more costume shops go up. Adults too are involved with adult only parties and trick or treating with their kids. Next in the evolution is costume shops evolved to half the store to costumes you could only get in a Frederick's of Hollywood catalog and now "sexy" is attached to most costumes, sexy freddy, sexy snow white, sexy chucky etc. but I couldn't believe my eyes this year when I saw a "sexy Alice from Brady Bunch" costume. I wonder whats next in the costume evolution only time will tell. On a side note I did see a strange thing this year, adults trick or treating without kids. Not 18 year old adults im talking 30 year old. More the merrier to me strange but more power to them. but it was a first.
