    Askskskdkndknmkdnjhfj!!

Ok, so my partner and I have to move house. Just a few hours ago, this place popped up on a property website, and already I'm thinking about what I could do with it for next Hallowe'en. What do you guys think, isn't it the perfect house for haunting?

I've even thought of a name for it...it's on Front Street, so I thought Front Street Fright. We could have a webpage...oh the ideas...!!

Um. I haven't actually viewed the house yet. Going to ring up first thing tomorrow LOL

It's so perfect, I could just scream (appropriate, no?)! I'm just teeming with ideas, and I'm not the one looking!

My wife and I do the exact same thing when we look at houses... "How would we decorate this one for Halloween?"...

If a house has a wrought iron fence, it's value goes up in my book!

Looks like a wonderful house to decorate but, on the other hand, it has kind of a small front yard with lots of trees that will take up a lot of room. You can hang things in the trees but, they might become lost. Don't forget to see how much storage space the house has to store all your stuff. Make sure the garage, basement, and attic are watertight. You don't want some of your best stuff molding and rotting away. Good luck on the house hunting! Post a pic when you finally decide what you get.

I just wanted to crop this bit and explain that a lot of the houses in England don't have front yards at all. The one we are currently in doesn't and the one before didn't. I appreciate that Americans look at these things differently because your country just has a lot more space than tiny old England - but for England, particularly for this town, that is a LARGE yard! It's all a matter of perspective.

ETA: This is a typical street in this city. This type of housing is very common in England. Can you see (sorry it's a small pic) that the front doors to the houses are right on the street?

ETA: Another example. This one's not in York but it will give you some idea.

Thanks for pointing that out. Yeah England is a much old country and I'm sure property is at a premium. I'm glad you pointed that out and yes, it's definitely a point of view. If you haven't had a front yard, then I would definitely be looking at this one. Yeah, you have to look both ways even to walk out the front door! I hope the doors open inward.

LOL I noticed the discrepancy when I came to the East Coast of the US and went out in my friend's yard - which to me was HUGE - and she said "We almost didn't move in here because the lot is so small." I was like: :-O hahaha!

Yeah at the moment we are in one of those houses that looks like that, with the door right on the street. It's called terraced housing, I think most of it was built just after WW2. I had to find my American friends a picture of it on the 'net because they asked what my house was like, and when I described it, they kept saying they couldn't picture it because they had no frame of reference LMAO :-)

ETA: And yes, the doors all open inward LOL

Fantastic house, I think you can do very much with up lighting against the trees and I think the folks suggesting a fence mounted on top of the brick wall can be used to mount props. Take a look at Aura Of Foreboding's work (search on this forum and look at his album). Also by Oct the leaves will have fallen. You can lift the trees ( cut the lower branches)... you have perfect house for haunts. Congratulations!

I have yet to figure out outdoor lighting. It's not usual to have outside sockets here. So it would mean running the power out from the main house and it would probably rain because it's England and if the outdoor lights blow I suppose the entire indoors of the house will blow too. I don't know very much about electrics :-/
