Thread: Considering scheduling a make-up day for our haunted house?

We spent the better part of October building our haunted house and setting up in the front yard. Countless hours went into the preparation efforts this year and Halloween day came with an ominous forecast. Thankfully the rain held off until about 7:30pm, long enough for us to have several groups go through our haunted house. But it was also long enough for a long line to form out front. I was told that people were waiting in line 20-30 minutes to come in. By 8:00pm it began raining buckets and many people were forced to leave before they could make it in to the haunted house. I suppose things could have been worse like what happened to those of you up north who had Halloween totally canceled.

Do you think it is wrong for me to schedule a make-up day for the haunted house this coming Saturday? Am I being too enthusiastic by wanting to give those who missed it a chance to come back? Do you think people would consider me out of line to do such a thing for my garage haunt? We are asking for canned food donations for the local soup kitchen, but a canned good isn't neccessary for admission. We collected some goods but I think the poor weather was what really hurt us ... anyhow what do you all think about a proposed make-up day this coming Saturday?

I would think it's a great idea, as long as you know of a way to get the word out to all those people that missed it.
I know I would go back on Saturday to get a chance to see a haunted house that I missed.

Thanks for your input Dave. I think I'm going to just forgo the make-up day. I don't have a reliable way to spread the word to enough people and I don't think I can recruit enough help for a second go ... honestly felt as though I was pushing my luck in the first place. Just have to wait until next year

Honestly I don't see anything wrong with this at all... if it happens again next year I'd be handing out cards, maybe with a link to a website or MyTwitFaceJournal for information on when you will be doing a second run for those who missed out!
