I did so much work, 200 feet of fence, handmade, both sides of lawn decorated to the max with full lighting, awesome fog machines and strobe lights. Decorated both levels of my house all by myself including a new huge Spooky Town display. Had my big party on the 29th, woke up to overcast skies and moderate snow...forecast..8-12 inches throught the day. By the time my party started there was already 7 inches and it was still coming down hard with emergency winter weather warnings. Power losses in all surrounding towns including mine, trees crashing all over due to the weight of the heavy wet snow on the leaves. My power went off at midnight, so they few that came to the party had to leave in almost a foot of snow. Power stayed off at my house until Halloween midday, so I didnt have time to get things fixed and unbury all my strobes and fog machines and props that were covered in snow. Trick or treating was cancelled in all towns due to falling branches, power outages and snow covered sidewalks. Despite this I did get a few trick or treaters...I feel so cheated...sigh

Yea, that's when I hear the flaming meteorites are supposed to hit!

Just kidding - this year, with record-breaking snow storms, flooding, cat 5 tornadoes, earthquakes on the East Coast, early massive snow storms...what the heck else can go wrong?!?!? And really sorry to hear of your (and all haunters') wearther-related troubles! It'll make for a good story at next year's party...

Don't let it get you down. Just think of all the times it HAS worked and let's all plan again for a great time next year. We got rained out here...but you had it FAR worse!!!!

I feel your pain. 12" of snow and no power. All my props were stuck in my garage which I couldn't get into due to the electric door opener and no power. So I spent the day Sunday shoveling my yard so if I got power I could set up. With all plans out the window I just rushed to set up on Monday. While setting up I hear noise down the street I knew could not be good. Looked like a school fight. Turned out it was a stabbing! Got everything up and running in time. But I never took the time to relax and enjoy it or even step back and look at it. Turn out was lower than usual due to no power in many areas still and the weather, snow, etc.

I had some great plans and I'm a little disappointed i could follow through on them. Just remember there is always next year.

Maybe your town postponed trick or treating to this Friday or Saturday? Our town is doing this on Friday instead.
