Well it's over! Another great haunt, less having a pumpkin thrown at one of my sacreactors and someone tried to rip the mask off another. I don't know what has happened but at the beginning of my haunt today, I lost my spirit. I didn't really go out and scare, I kinda just stood in the back and watched. I only started the chainsaw twice! Has anyone else felt this way? Help!!!

Day of is always hard because it's so much build up that all my energy is normally gone. This year was off because nothing felt like Halloween until today.

Yup. Still feeling it.
I lost my Halloween mojo 2 years ago, after a disappointing party (swine flu took out most of the guests and only had 7 show), got sick myself and hubby too on Halloween and we did a really half-hearted display... haven't gotten the spirit back the way it was before, but it is still fun; I just have to remind myself that it will be worth the effort. I have hopes that the next year or two I'll start getting back into the year-round prop building and to topping my displays again.
It sucks when you lose it, but sometimes you do just need some time to get it back.

Sometimes i get into a chill mood when i should be scaring people on halloween or at the haunted hayride but thats when i slap myself and pound a coffee. Today i ripped the chainsaw a few times and got some TOTs running for their lives. I cracked up.

I burned out 4 years ago, took that year off, then came back stronger than ever. Sometimes you need a break. Maybe take a year to be a spectator rather than the performer.
