We had a low tot count tonight but it only takes that one kid to make it all worth it. Mine tonight was a little boy around 4 years old.

tot: Your house is so spooky.
me: (with cat face makeup, kitty ears and a tail): That's because it's a witches house.
tot: (with big saucer eyes) It is?!
me: Yes, but she's a very good witch, that's why she gives out candy. I'm her cat.
tot: (squinting eyes) No you're not, you're a person.
me: The witch turns me into a person once a year but only on Halloween. At midnight, I turn back into a cat.
tot: (saucer eyes turning into dinner plate size)
me: Meowww

I got a smile and a giggle and he got his candy. I got the better deal.

Awesome! That's a great story!

We had a couple of boys about 9 or 10 years old dressed as a skeleton gangster and a skeleton jester. They kept coming around talking to us in their deepest, scariest pre-adolescent boy voices and telling my son (who is 20) that they'd be back to get him at ... eleven o'clock. Like that was a particularly scary time of night. Funny!

Group of 4 ToTs about age 10. The come up the hill and turn the corner on the driveway and then one voice says, "I don't care if there's candy, I'm not going in there. It's scary." My wife scrambled down the drive way and convinced the kids to come back--whick the did but only if their parents would come with them. Awesome.

Me (dressed as Krueger): do you think Im the real Freddy?
TOT: Yes
Me: then Ill see you tonight in your dreams
TOT: MOOOOOM!! runs away. lol


Not very nice, but I loved it.

Way too many entertaining ones to remember, I had a couple hundred! To come to my house they all wanted to come in groups and some even pushed their parents ahead of them...just in case. There was a large group of older kids and only two would come to the house. Then some of the girls in the group gave their bags to the boys to get their candy.....muahahaha

my fave was the zombie baby!!!! she was the cutest zombie i've ever seen!

Thank you Tannasqach, we live in an apartment building so TOT is not allowed. I miss that most of all.

My favorite is from 2 years ago.

This kid couldn't have been more than 8 or 9 motioned me to come closer with a super serious look on his face and said:

You know I've been TOTing for 5 years in lots of different neighborhoods and I'm telling you, your house is the best I have ever seen.

Its that serious look only a child can give when they really want you to pay attention. Priceless
