... Won first place, figured I'd post it. Unfortunately I sprung a leak in my fuel rod somewhere, and had to empty it. Before THAT happened, the purple rod coming out of his chest was full of glowing, bubbling green liquid. As of right now, I think there is only a single photo with it running. Hopefully I can get it fixed before Monday.

Thanks, Bella!
Right now I only have the one video. Maybe I'll be able to get another tomorrow.

That is great!!! I love how you made the head independent from the shoulders - added another layer of realism.

Wow, before I saw it clearly I thought it was one of the aliens from 5th element! Could be easily changed over if you ever wanted to do it. Looks fantastic.

Thanks, everyone. I made him myself. Obviously I bought the mask and the hands, but everything else was built from scratch. The mask was filled with foam and then chopped in half right at the jawline to make room for the jaw I created for him. I DON'T have a DIY for it, but I'm getting ready to take him apart, and maybe I can take some pictures. Here is a picture of me and my sons' mom at the party that night. Easier to get an idea of his scale with it.

I never thought about the aliens from 5th Element, but you're absolutely right, it is almost a perfect model for them.
My plans for next year are to replace the glow sticks on his shoulders with clear tubing that I can route the bubbler through and also light with UV LEDs, just like the fuel rod. That way the fuel rod and the tubes will all be bubbling green liquid. I also want to build a faux cast-iron stove on his back, I think. I know there are some nice DIYs on here for glowing coals, and I want to rust him up a bit. Maybe with some brutal rust, or something like that.
