Best of the best?
Must some payola involved in that. Those house made a good effort, but nowhere near as good as I see on this forum.

I've never seen fair results in one of those "best of" competitions or photo shoots hosted by a newspaper or TV station. Last year there was a canine costume contest, there was one excellent "honorable mention" who had their big ruff and tuff dog airbrushed to look like a tiger. Very excellent job. Meanwhile a bichon frise with a store-bought collar-that-gives-the-dog-devil-horns won and the other two were store-bought silly costumes with no other effort put in. Ugh. That's also why I never join pumpkin carving contests anymore except for one that's run within our group of friends... there's artists both competing and judging so it tends to be more fair.
