So when I was worried about the kids breaking thing or stealing stuff, I never thought of what could other stuff could be bad. I live in Colorado so snow and bad weather this time of year are just a norm. I have build my props to deal with the normal weather around hear. Well we got a snow fall of over 12" and it was a heavy wet one, my tree's got trashed and had over $10,000 in damages in yard, house, roof, and yes when tree's fall props suffer. I have been out with a chainsaw for 2 days and still working. My annual party is tonight and Im so tired I was almost to the point of canceling. Well I cant do that so Im going to redecorate the yard and use the distruction to make it work. lol I will be posting pics later today the before and after and all the tree damage and crushed props. Im kinda scared to be working out in the yard since there are still big branches hanging up high and every day more fall. I hope to get it done for tonight.

SO sorry buggynutt! What a mess you must be dealing with! Crushed props- $10,000 of damage! How horrible! Please take care and don't hurt yourself with the chainsaw.

Chainsaws are just fun this time of year.lol I will figure something out. I could probly say it was more in damages since it detroyed my 50yr old maple tree. It just made me so upset to see my tree destroyed that I about cried. The whole town is fighting this problem and it was so bad that the city is doing a one month long clean up and tree haul away. It may take longer than that. Anyways it we be fixed today as well as I can manage since people will be showing up at 7 tonight and I have a couple dats to get ready for the big night.

I hear you buggynut. I live in Colorado too - we didn't get 12 inches like you did in Fort Collins but got over 6. I agree we know to prepare for snow this time of year (trick or treating in Colorado means cramming a winter coat under your costume!) but there is only so much you can do to prepare! This snow was definately heavy and caused a lot of problems in my outdoor display as well. Besides for trying to finish up the inside of the house I have been out trying to break up ice and not slide of the roof while I repair the part of my display it damaged up there. I too am so sore and worn out I almost almost wishing for the party to be over already but am determined to try and enjoy it.

It sounds like your damage was extreme and heartbreaking both in general and halloween related. My heart goes out to you and I truly hope you are able to enjoy your party tonight. You deserve it after all you have gone through!!
As I was going up the stair, I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. I wish, I wish he'd go away.

I'm in Colorado too & we got about 6 inches of think wet snow. I brought in about 50% of my display the day before because I knew it was coming.

I'm glad that it came when it did because most of the snow will be melted off by the end of today. 2 years ago we got dumped on with like 12" of snow the day before Halloween. I got how from work at 10pm & shoveled my entire yard off by 2am so the show could go on the next day.

Well I'm in MD & right now it's snowing, sleeting, & raining. I had planned on putting some things out this weekend to get a headstart on Monday since I don't put most things out until Halloween.

There should NOT be snow on my blow molds!!
