Long story, but I lost my house. It sucks because I had a nice haunt going and between 300-400 TOT's every year. Now I live in an apartment in an old factory. It's small, 600 square feet. I took the day off to decorate. Just looking for ideas. My fog machine and strobe lights will go unused as well as most of my outside props.![]()

Oh that's terrible! Lotsa spider webs will do the trick. Maybe some colored light bulbs Creepy pictures on the walls. Do you have indoor decor at all?

Not a whole lot. I put up some of the stuff that I was able to save. I actually lost a LOT of my decorations because my ex took them. Wasn't worth fighting over. I'm decorating today (while watching Abbot and Costello Meeet Frankenstein), but I'm going to run out and try and get some more stuff. Spider webs would look cool. I'll pick some up !

I use spider webs too, all along the stair railings. I also put colored lights in the stairwell. In my main window, I put a battery candlelabra. I also use plants, such as black potato vines in an urn. Basically lots of small stuff that adds up.

You might want to put a sign outside challenging the bravest to venture your way (and letting TOT's know NOT to bypass your place)
Here's my idea:
Have you seen the movie "Room 1408"?
You could put the number 1408 on the front of your door, and decorate it like a freaky, haunted hotel room. Let me think...maybe a large and eery portrait, a noose hanging from the ceiling, blood stained mirrors or windows, and the cracked and oozing walls. Add some sound effects, and voila! a creepy haunt that you couldn't pull off in your old house!

I just finished decorating outside my apartment. We've got a balcony contest (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). I've had my indoor decor done for awhile. For the outside balcony, I had an animated lighted tree with creepy face that had a broken bulb. The dang thing had some not normal voltage, so I couldn't just replace the bulb and instead restrung the whole thing with purple lights from Walgreens with a few of the green bulbs thrown in for eyes and teeth. I hung a skeleton off one end of the balcony. On the other I used some tension rods I had sitting around and duck taped them to the back of a chair, then put a shoulder and head on top of the two sticks, draped a scream style robe over it, and stuck a skeleton mask on the head. Easy fast reaper. I strung icicle lights across the top roof and a single line of lights along the railing. They come on purple, fade to black, fade in and out orange, then fade back in and out to purple, etc. I took 7 milk jugs (wish I had more) and used a permanent marker to make ghost faces on them. I then cut a small hole at the base on the back, lined them all up right next to one another zip tying them to the rails on my deck by the jug handles, and stuffed clear Christmas lights on a string from one to the next. I then took some black electric tape and used it to make spider webs rom corners of the openings of my deck to the railing.
If you're looking for cheap / easy for outside and not expensive, the lights, milk jug ghosts, and electric tape spider webs can add a lot.
