I went home early the other day, and I got to the house just as the school bus for the elementary school was dropping kids off. As I headed towards the house, a group of kids came over and said "we really like your Halloween decorations!" I thanked them for the compliment and invited them to come up and have a closer look, and they all eagerly came over. They wanted to see The Creature and Creeper figures, skeletons, and other decorations up close, and I let them see and touch them.
Once they were done, I told them they look even scarrier at night, and they said "we don't walk by your house at night. It's too scary."So I guess I hit the mark I was looking for.

Last year we were watching the kids come up to the house, and one kid about 10 or so was afraid to come up since he had been there the year before and knew Michael Myers (aka my son Sean) would be lurking around somewhere. His Mom said "I'll go with you so you can see there's nothing to be afraid of" and drug her son up behind her.
My son was hiding on the far side of the entry way, and they were looking for him to be in the window on the other side of the entry way where he usually is. We had the window open and set up like before, so people were focused on the window and not the halfwall where Sean was.
While the Mom was looking at the window, Sean came up behind her and just stood there. The son took off, and Mom turned around and saw Sean in his costume and she took off running. As she went down the driveway she said "we're never coming back to this house again!" Funniest moment ever!"Spit's all that's holding me together right now too!" James Whitmore, Them!
