I had the opportunity to work as an actor last night at my local professional haunt. This was my first experience being the one doing the scaring it was so fun chasing people with a giant knife. I would recommend anyone that has the chance to do this jump on it. It was the most fun I have had in a while. Still cleaning the blood from my hands......Just thought I would share.

Oh yeah, there is NOTHING in the world like being an actor in a professional haunt. I was an actor at a Six Flags Fright Fest for seven years and I couldn't get enough of it. I never would have left that job if I hadn't moved out of state. I loved working there every year. It is a blast chasing people around with a big plastic knife! Ahhhh the warm fuzzy memories of people screaming and running away from me in terror... those were the days...

I actually had the rare opportunity last night to relive a touch of that feeling. There were several kids who chickened out of going through our home haunt last night, they would come in the door, and then turn around to run back out. I'm always the one who leads people through the haunt, so I rarely get to do any scaring, but one kid around 12 years old came in with two of his friends, and then bolted for the door, I humorously tried to get between him and the door, but he opened it and ran, and totally on instinct born from my wonderful old haunting days, I took off after him. LOL I didn't even think about it! I chased the kid past the waiting crowd of people outside my door and halfway down the street, to the laughter and cheers of the crowd. *wistful sigh* That's what's it's alllllll about... ROFL!!

Since we couldn't do it at the house this year because of the baby, I did the same thing - signed up to work at a local haunted house. It's been fun so far and I've been told that I'm their best actor. Got promoted to the front and it's a lot of fun. I guess all those years of home haunting have paid off lol

I was a bit nervous as this is way out of my comfort zone...I am usually reserved, but it was so much fun. My wife wants to go with me now...LOL
