Since my daughter entered school three years ago, we have been attending the Halloween shindig. It's great with a catered dinner, dance, and my favorite, the haunted hallway. This year I decided to offer myself to aid in the hallway prep. The PTA just got back to me with a sad email explaining the hallway was a no go this year because the two families that ran it were halloween buffs and had all the decorations.Their kids had kids who moved on to middle school, taking all their halloween stuff with them. The PTA didn't feel it the best use of money to try and replace all the stuff. "So unless for some reason you have a lot of halloween decorations, we are going to pass on the hallway this year".........hahah! It's short notice, and I'm giving away some of my home secrets ( a lot of our ToTs are school kids ) but dang, I get to save Halloween! Really, the evening is an old school family event that bristles with the magic of the holiday, something I hope my daughter always remembers the same way I remember my early school / small town parades and events. To do it without the hallway would be a giant let down to the kids ( not to mention me!) So I'm burning the midnight oil planning and building. Hope they like it, if so I guess I have a job for about 4 more years!

That is so awesome that you get to save the day for the kids. I bet you were secretly laughing when they jokingly implied that you wouldn't have stuff.
